[edit] Rename?

The page's creator added a {{rename}} template because he thought there were better names, but he didn't start a discussion, so here it is. Personally, I think the page's current title is fine. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 23:20, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

Is this subject notable? I’m on the fence. -107.77.106.80 23:34, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, I think it happens often enough for a page. It's uncommon in real life, and fairly common in Homestar Runner. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 23:42, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
I would suggest "-ant pronounced with a short a", to mirror "-or pronounced with a long o", if the article's name was going to be changed. They're both suffixes related to people who do jobs and the end syllable is stressed. -- 68.37.43.131 00:31, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
I'd say replace the word "hard" with either "short" or "stressed" (or possibly another term meaning the same thing). DEI DAT VMdatvm center\super contra 15:06, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, "short A" sounds good to me. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 20:40, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
I don't really think so. "Short", while true, doesn't suggest "emphasized", even if it is moving up from a schwa. I'd rather see "stressed" or "emphasized" in the title. The Knights Who Say Ni 00:53, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
I agree with this. These are not "normally long A's pronounced with a short A". They are "already short A's that are normally unstressed, but being pronounced stressed." -113.37.226.89 03:35, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Hm, good point. In that case I'd support "stressed", "emphasized" or another similar word being in the title rather than "short". DEI DAT VMdatvm center\super contra 16:16, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
