[edit] Cleaning
This page, along with any associated pages, is going to need a lot of cleanup. There is some redundant language, links that are now redirects (and double redirects), and general formatting to be done. wbwolf (t | ed) 05:52, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- I put the page down to a small table. I merged Gel-arshie and Mother with Marshie as (at least according to QotW) Gel-arshie and Marshie are nearly the same entity and Mother isn't exactly a mascot. --ThomasO 02:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Thomas. Marshie's mother and Gel-arshie don't belong on this page: Gel-arshie is just a variation on Marshie, not a separate character, and Marshie's mother is not a mascot.
- This leaves me really questioning whether this page should exist at all, considering that Marshie and Mr. Shmallow already have their own articles. This seems to me to have been rushed through a bit hastily: A look down Talk:Gel-arshie shows me that many people favored merging Gel-arshie to Marshie, not here. I think we need to start discussing this again and come up with a better solution. Heimstern Läufer

- Although Gel-arshie look similar to Marshie and act creepily like him, he is not him, I argue. He is another mascot for another product of the same company most likely conceived by a not-so-creative team of the company. Therefor I think he should be listed separately from Marshie. As for Marshie's Mother, I believe she she should be listed as a mascot because she is a character created by the company to be used in a commercial for their product. She may not be a "spokesperson" like Marshie, but she does appear (in picture from) in a company advertisement and that is enough in most cases. Nibbles should of course be listed. If only linked to redirecting to it's own page or completely described in this one, that's a discussion for Talk:Nibbles. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 10:47, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- If we're going to keep Marshie's mother, this article should be renamed. Marshie's mother is not a mascot. Appearing in a portrait in the background of a commercial does not make one a mascot. As for Gel-arshie: he's still effectively the same person as Marshie. Whether the imaginary Fluffy Puff people view him as a different mascot they made up for these commercials or not isn't that relevant: he acts and looks (other than that colour thing) exactly like Marshie. His content belongs on Marshie's page. We'll see the result of the Nibbles discussion. Heimstern Läufer
