Talk:Graffiti Wall
From Homestar Runner Wiki
Do we need both this page and the graffiti page?-LordQuackingstick 21:43, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- This page has been here a really long time... --DorianGray
- While that is true, and should be considered, that's not a good reason not to discuss its worth. I'm thinking merging the two articles might not be a bad idea, actually. - Qermaq - (T/C) 21:50, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- I guess the real question is "With graffiti being a popular subject, is there something significant about it being on walls vs other mediums?" - ISTC 21:58, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think they need to be separate, coz one is a place and one is a gag. --DorianGray
- I see that point, but the question seems to me to be related to making this page clearer as to the location being separate from other locations. IE (or is it AKA): making it clear that these walls aren't the back of Bubs' or the outside of someone's house, but an entirely separate location for the characters to be at. Which I think is what this page is for, but is not clear at all from the content. If these are not distinct locations (or type of location) then this page doesn't need to exist. - ISTC 22:16, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- You can easily see they're distinct locations just from the image on the page. Where else in Free Country, USA, has a sidewalk ever appeared? --DorianGray
- First of all, it'd probably be better as a phenomenon, not a place, as in 'graffiti on walls." And that would fit in nicely with just plain ol' graffiti. And I think there have been instances of places being part of an article.-LordQuackingstick 22:09, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't think it's a bad thing to have the same article discuss a gag and a location, especially when the two are so related and this article is so brief. This type of wall has been seen in two toons, a game and in the wallpapes. Come to think about it, is it really a "place" as they're not all the same wall? Anyway, not all places need articles, too, so that's something else to ponder. - Qermaq - (T/C) 22:13, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Two thoughts in response: 1)I think this page is better than having each of these on a separate page. 2)While it could be included into graffiti as a subsection, linking graffiti as a place would seem sort of off to me. - ISTC 22:37, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Plus Graffiti Walls sounds like a Rock Band, not a page title. גשמלדרברגן (Geshmalder) 22:30, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Is it the same
I think an argument can be made that the 3 toon related walls are the same wall, just different variations, at least 2 of them are brick walls with sidewalks, and the other, although it looks more like asphalt, is also more likely a sidewalk as well based on the boom box and cardboard box on the ground. So maybe this should be "Graffiti Wall" or "The Graffiti Wall" and get rid of the Wallpaper reference. - ISTC 23:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- The Wallpaper one is not a wall, it's a garage door or something. We might as well include Bubs' door with the 4actor X or whatever it was - but that'd be silly, as it's not a wall either. So I think the Wallpaper one should be noted as graffiti, but not as a place here, as it's not a wall and it's not a location in a toon anyway. I'ma remove it, if you object I'm sure I'll find out. - Qermaq - (T/C) 03:19, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
