Talk:Strong Bad Losing His Pants
From Homestar Runner Wiki
[edit] Necessary?
This is all mentioned in Pants. I think we should redirect it to that. Homestar-Winner (talk) 22:43, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- Homestar Runner's Hat and Homestar Runner's Pants have their own articles. Bad Bad Guy 22:45, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, which means that the real question is if SB's pants have the same level of significance and interest to merit their own article. At present, one serious argument against having this article is its HRW:OAness. Since there's nothing really interesting in the opening, it's practically just a list that could easily go under Pants. For me to think this should have an article, I'd want to see a better intro that helps to really demonstrate the significance of SB's pants as opposed to other pants. Heimstern Läufer

- Homestar's Hat is significant because it mentions where it is significant and where he ISN'T wearing his hat. Homestar's Pants are significant because it's a major running gag. Strong Bad's Pants are not as significant to mertit an article. I bet less people would recognise those than Homestar's hat. Also, there's a real danger that we'll end up with dozens of small, insignificant articles called Strong Mad's Singlet, Homsar's Hat, Coach Z's Medallion, Marzipan's Dress ect. This might as well become a redirect to Pants. – The Chort 19:50, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- None of those other clothes you mentioned play siginficant roles in any gags. SB's pants do. Bad Bad Guy 23:17, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see anything wrong with it. Keep. Religious Corn

- Not uniquely notable and covered in Pants. -DAGRON 00:43, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, Bad Bad Guy, what was saying was that if we keep this article, other editors might think "Oh, we can create separate articles on clothes now!" and go on to create lots of articles about insignificant clothing and we'll end up in a pickle and then we'll have to come back to this talk page and think things over again. I just don't feel Strong Bad's pants are relevant enough to merit their own article. – The Chort 22:05, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Here's an idea: what if we redefined this as "Strong Bad losing his pants"? A much more specific running gag with three appearances, and it might actually make an interesting prose intro. Heimstern Läufer 00:48, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- Who died and made you Mister Good-idea-haver, what with your always to be the good ideas having and somesuch. ;) -DAGRON 00:53, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- We might lose the "everybody knows my pants" quote, but as long as it proves to the people that there is a notable gag involving them... Bad Bad Guy 01:04, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Main Page 24
Just a little thing- did Strong Sad actually steal his pants? Or did he just find them? As I recall he says "Well looky what I found!" on the main page. --Acam30 17:31, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think you can say one way or another from context. It could be either. --DorianGray 20:01, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
