[edit] The game
I thought it was okay, but I didnt see the point of it...What did you think of it?--sugar high 06:55, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] More about the game
When was the game added? 'Cause the copy on my computer was downloaded the day the e-mail was released, and it doesn't have the game. Gus 23:43, 5 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I don't remember, but I do remember it being months after the email came out. --Jay (Gobble) 00:11, 6 Jul 2005 (UTC)
[edit] David Jacobus
This fact was added to the page by an IP number:
- David Jacobus is still a resident of Astoria, NY which is in NYC. He is largely credited with being the individual who introduced H*R (while still in its infancy) to the student population at MIT in Cambridge, MA.
Usually, unless there is a prove that the same guy is the email's sender, facts like this get deleted. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 16:53, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
This is David -- I'm not sure how I prove this and to whom? Do I need to send like mail stubs of my residences in both Astoria and Cambridge?
Someone let me know...
Best,
DJ
- I'm pretty convinced. Convinced enough that it's on the page again now, though a link or two would still be pretty cool if you want. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 18:53, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "loon" sound effect?
It does seem like the guys are making reference to "Fishing with John" in the DVD commentary, and the same sound effect may have been used in that show, but the echoey vocal sound effect is actually one of the sounds on a late-eighties CASIO keyboard. Since the Brothers Chaps are in possession of such a keyboard, I doubt they'd have had to grab the sound effect from a TV show when it's probably one of the presets on their keyboard.
[edit] the fishing game works
You hit L to lure and J to jig. 68.229.185.85 05:14, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- And? You're telling us this why?— Defender1031*Talk 05:19, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Spoof??
Did they get that idea of Strong Bad's thing from Ernie's fish calls from Sesame Street? Coach Z is holding the fishing pole like Bert and wearing the hat like Ernie.... and a ridiculous method gets fish into the boat.
- Yes. It's quite possible. That's why it's listed in real world references. — Defender1031*Talk 17:43, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
[edit] Come on Down to My Boat
Any chance that the "Come on and get in the boat" line came from this 60s bubblegum-pop song? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_on_Down_to_My_Boat
