[edit] Needed?
Is this really needed? Is it that hard to type the code of this page without a template? — MichaelXX2

- It is useful for forcing MediaWiki to flush cached copies of pages, for instance when updating templates, just hitting reload in your browser might not be truly up to date. This is because MediaWiki hasn't updated its own database, yet, so it will feed your browser old data. Can you identify a negative impact to having the template? LobStoR 03:40, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

- Such as user signature templates? ;-) (just giving you a hard time, I know that everyone does it) LobStoR 03:47, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- I don't see a compelling reason to delete this. -128.103.10.135 01:27, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Don't pages purge themselves now? Is it technically needed anymore? I don't see anyone using that feature anymore, even when not in template form. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 05:48, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
- For the rcord, I've repeatedly found the main page in unpurged form, with the old FAS. And yes, this was recent. And no, it wasn't just my browser cache (I checked that). Mind you, I just use the link at FAS, so I'm not sure we need the template, but I also don't see why we'd need to delete it. Heimstern Läufer
