[edit] Deleting things
If you want to delete something, delete it from this page, not the source. — It's dot com 01:21, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- You need to delete the link at the top of this page. Up where it says {{User:Bkmlb/welcome}}, just take that right out. Or you could blank this whole page; it's fine with me. But if you mess with the source page again, I'm going to block you for the rest of the day. — It's dot com 01:24, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- And actually, that welcome wasn't automated; it was just a very alert member who likes to welcome people. I happen to be one myself! (You can see the others at HRWiki:Welcoming committee.) —AbdiViklas 01:27, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
What link? I don't see anything you's talking of, it's dot com.--Jimmy Jammies 01:35, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- Click edit at the top of this page. Then look for the text that matches what I typed there in my last post. — It's dot com 01:40, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Me hopes it to works!--Jimmy Jammies 01:41, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Okay, so now, how do I edit my user page...I feel so naive...--Jimmy Jammies 01:43, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- Well, there were a lot of good links to help you edit in the stuff you just removed. You could try Help:Contents as a place to start. — It's dot com 01:52, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- Also, user pages and what should go in them are explained well at HRWiki:User space. —AbdiViklas 02:00, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Name
Okay, it worked. Now, about your name. Your signature needs to read "Robert Benedicio," not "Jimmy Jammies," because both of those are user pages. — It's dot com 01:52, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- In fact, the easiest way to sign your name is to type ~~~. Just three leaves your name; four leaves your name plus the timestamp, as I'm about to do. Oh, and the reason you got everybody huffy was that the little "edit" link immediately above Bkmlb's welcome took you to directly editting his template, on his own userspace. I alerted him to a way to hide that link. Your mistake was pretty understandable, though; I've made it myself! —AbdiViklas 01:57, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Okays, let me try this:Robert Benidicio
[edit] Old Talk Threads
Hey there Robert. It's me again. You're perfectly welcome to post your thoughts in talk threads, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware that those conversations were months old... almost a year old in some cases. — It's dot com 21:14, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks man. By the way, I have a few little questions: How do I make new subjects, such as the one you just made? How come whenever I sign my name using the three wavy hyphens it says I am "Jimmy Jammies?" And also, whenever I'm logged in it says I have new messages, although whenever I click it it brings me to this talk page, often unchanged. How do I get rid of false "new" messages?User:Robert Benedicio
- There's a bug that hasn't been fixed yet that keeps the new message indicator up there until you click "unwatch" at the top of your talk page. To start a new thread, click the plus symbol between "edit" and "history". Check your preferences on your name. Make sure "Robert Benedicio" is listed there. — It's dot com 21:23, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
- Thjanks one million talk to you later.--Robert Benedicio 13:01, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
