I have some problems with this. Overall, it's a pretty goofy welcome message. This would be good, but I don't think it would get that warm welcoming feeling to the new user. Also, the "could get you closer to being a sysop" remark is bad, as a proper user doesn't aim for sysophood, but rather contributing to main namespace articles. Also, the whole striked through, underlined etc. ruins the whole "be bold" thing. We don't mean bold as in bold text, but rather to not be afraid or intimidated of major editing. It has nothing to do with striking through stuff. — Seriously (Talk) 14:06, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Fine, I'll change the messages around and then leave this open for deletion. The be bold joke was the best I have and I'm told it just ruins the be bold thing altogether. {sarcastically} Thanks for dissapointing me, though. --Y2K (15px-Crystal_Clear_app_xchat.png15px-Crystal_Clear_app_kedit.png15px-Crystal_Clear_app_email.png) 02:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
How about instead of deleting it, you improve it? It's not all bad. There's just a bit too much sillyness in it that it may overwhelm and confuze the new user. I'm not going to delete it because it's included on so many user pages. I would appreciate any open minded response. Keep on tranglin'. —BazookaJoe 02:42, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
OK. I've removed most of the inappropiate jokes and added some extra jokes (including tooltip Easter Eggs near the end).

Well, that's not what I meant. Your welcome has gone beyond the scope of Homestar Runner humor that it doesn't even make sense to a wiki veteran. Saying "Helscome our wedsite; we're glad to have you as a member of the Homestarmy" is appropriate for an H*R community, but saying "Helscome our wheatie; we're glad to have you as an ingredient" is just too over the top. The irony is, for a nonsensical humor website like this, having too much nonsense in your welcomes can be 'No Good'. —BazookaJoe 03:52, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
You don't have to get rid of it all, but maybe you should consider taking it down a notch from H*R.--H*Bad 03:50, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm FINE, x-Spider2. H*Bad: You can't really have too much Homestar Runner in anything. After all, this is the Homestar Runner Wiki. — Seriously (Talk) 22:27, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Yes, even though I hate to say it, you can have too much H*R stuff. If everything on there is just Homestar Runner quotes or running gags, people will get confused.--H*Bad 23:18, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
