Occasionally, a character has said something specific and then has attempted to correct himself, only to say the same thing he said before. Upon attempting to correct himself again, he still ends up saying the same thing for the third time in a row.

- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2 — In an attempt to imitate Coach Z, Homestar Runner says "Um... great job. Oh, I mean... great job. Oh, I mean... great job."
- Email from work — After being asked by Homestar "You wanna know what my dream job would be?" Strong Bad replies, saying "No. I mean, no. I mean, no."

- Email stand-up — When asked whether he's ever done stand-up comedy, Strong Bad replies "What? No. No. No. I mean, no. Never. No. What? No."
- Email couch patch — Strong Bad claims after opening a hole in his couch and releasing a bad smell from it, "They had to call in a hazmat team just to hose me hose me hose me down".
- Strongest Man in the World — In response to a insult made by Strong Bad, Homestar (who is obviously a little confused) says "Hey! W— wait. Hey! You— wait. Hey! Wait—"
- The Baloneyman — Strong Bad asks Bubs, "Whaddya got that'll cool me cool me cool me down?"
