The horned helmet is a real helmet worn by The Brothers Chaps when a tough or Middle Ages look is required, although horned helmets were not commonly worn in that time. Even though it has a metallic look to it, it is clearly made of rubber or another flexible material.

In addition, Homestar Runner wore a horned helmet in Flashforward and the movies.
