Calligraphy is one of Strong Sad's favorite hobbies. Not suprisingly, there are many references to his remarkable penmanship. His calligraphy pen and inkwell make multiple appearances.

Appearances

  • Old Characters Page — The description for Strong Sad states that "On the plus side, he has very good handwriting!"
  • Yearbook Character Page — Strong Sad's autograph clearly shows his superb penmanship, displaying this character trait. In this toon his handwriting is Old English Text MT.
  • Email impression — Contestants of the Strong Sad Lookalike Contest are judged on their appearance, impression, and penmanship. Strong Bad wins the blue ribbon for penmanship, writing "Strong Sad's Fancy Handwriting" in curly-cued letters.
  • Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon — While Strong Bad is in jail, Strong Sad has set up calligraphy scrolls and writes to Strong Bad (aka Professor Tor Coolguy) using his caligraphy pen. In this toon his handwriting is English111 Vivace BT, and his signature is Parchment.
  • Strong Sad's Lament — Strong Sad lists his interests as "Listening, Books, Listening to books, Calligraphy..."
  • Email action figure — Strong Sad's action figure comes with an "Atomic calligraphy pen!"
  • Email radio — In a scene demonstrating college radio listeners, Strong Sad is shown doing calligraphy in his room with his calligraphy pen.
  • Email record book — Strong Sad uses his calligraphy pen to transcribe Paradise Lost onto this single grain of basmati rice in four languages.
  • Doomy Tales of the Macabre — The entire tale is Strong Sad writing a macabre tale with his calligraphy pen and inkwell. The loading screen is his inkwell and says "loadink". In this toon his handwriting is in Jefferson.
