In interviews and public appearances, The Brothers Chaps normally converse with their audience or interviewer. Topics brought up by either side have inspired or influenced future content in the Homestar Runner body of work.
[edit] Georgia Tech - 26 Apr 2007
- Matt Chapman mentions that due to the shifting background color, the DVDs' FBI warning screens are animated at a higher frame rate, making it especially hard to animate The Cheat. On strongbad_email.exe Disc Five, released just over a month later, the background color doesn't shift, allowing The Cheat to be animated at the usual framerate.
- Matt Chapman talked about how halfway animations aren't very possible at 12fps, the frame rate of most toons, using Homestar Runner's mouth as an example. Homestar Runner eventually gained a half-open mouth, despite Matt saying "You're not going to see that much more."
- Mike Chapman recalls the apparent pain of animating Bubs's arms. His arm movements have since changed, presumably for ease of animation.
- The "Keep on Truckin'" animation presented became the basis for One Two, One Two. It was apparently one of many random animations that Mike does behind Matt's back.
[edit] Late Nite JengaJam Interview - 4 Oct 2007
- The host, JengaShip, reminisces about the Powered by The Cheat updates. Matt agrees that "[they're] probably due" for new Powered by The Cheat cartoons. Rap Song was released roughly a month later.
[edit] ROFLCon - 26 Apr 2008
- All of the panelists, which consisted of Internet celebrities such as The Brothers Chaps, signed an OLPC XO-1 laptop that was later auctioned for charity, perhaps inspiring the Happy 8600.
