The original Battle of Strong Badia!
Space Invaders is one of the first classic video games from the late 1970s that defined the first wave of arcades. The game itself has often been referenced in Homestar Runner.
[edit] Appearances
- Armless Invaders — In a parody of Space Invaders, Strong Bad shoots Homestar Runners as they descend from the sky.
- Email the bet — The Typing Tutor Turbo that The King of Town owns seems to parody Space Invaders with letters instead of aliens.
- Experimental Film — At one point, Homestar is playing Space Invaders on the ATM, but with presidents' heads instead of aliens, and a $ instead of a tank.
- HomestarRunner.com: PAY PLUS! — The trial game substitutes Strong Bad for a spaceship, Homestars for Invaders, and The Cheat for alien missiles.
- Email more armies — The pamphlet that Homestar tears in half contains the cover art for the Atari 2600 version of Space Invaders.
