Transcripts

How should we go about transcribing? Copy-pasting would go against Once And Only Once, so perhaps we could look into links or templates. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 05:50, 5 May 2020 (UTC)

These compilation pages are a better place for transcripts than the sea of scrolling that is the tweet archives. My suggestion is to move the transcripts here under appropriate subsections, leaving behind "see Social Media Crap Compilation 1#A Decemberween Snowment". Lira (talk) 06:26, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
I agree these compilation toon pages are a much better place for Transcripts Guybrush20X6 07:08, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
I also agree with moving the transcripts. Shorten up those pages, legitimise these ones. Don't forget to also bring over any related fun facts! --DorianGray 10:12, 5 May 2020 (UTC)

Should there be a cat

I'd be fine with that idea, but the more I think about it, the less I agree. For starters, the Tweets are the original sources, so it feels wrong to separate the transcript from the rest of the Tweet. By splitting up this information, people reading the @StrongBadActual articles would constantly be directed to different pages, and since some videos aren't documented in these compilations, the transcripts would be spread around somewhat arbitrarily. And where do we link if a video is referenced on an article? What if a video is different from the original (for example, the original Tweet appearing in "Weird Naked Teapot(?) Homestar")?
I think the best option would be to create a template. It can be called {{Social Media Crap}}, and transcripts would be accessed using the first parameter ({{Social Media Crap|World Puppet Day}}).
Edit conflict: And yes, I think there should be a cat. And maybe a category too! Either "Social Media Crap" or "Social Media Compilations". Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 18:55, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
