Disambig stuff
You know, we never used to have this whole disambig issue/confusion when the character and the film series were all on one page. Do they really need to be on two pages? -- Tom 15:56, 22 Feb 2005 (MST)
- I think that there does need to be some distinction because of the context of the cartoon. Saying "This is a Dangeresque cartoon!" and saying "In this cartoon, Dangeresque jumps off of a building!!!11!" →evin290 16:14, 14 Mar 2005 (MST)
- I like them split up, but the disambig notice at the top of the page is a bit cumbersome. - Dr Haggis - Talk 17:10, 19 Mar 2005 (MST)
Sounds Dangerous starring Drew Carrey
Does anyone have any information on this? The links I found online confirmed its existence but not any of the details. — It's dot com 04:37, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I discovered this when I went to Disney world, it is to similar to be a coincidence. If it is, then that is just creepy. It is a theater attraction starring drew carrey. He is a celebrity undercover cop who has to find a guy called renaldi. Here are the similarities: Renaldo says "sounds dangerous" (name of attraction, and something drew carrey's sidekick says a few times), Renaldi is almost the same word as Renaldo, and both star a celebrity undercover cop. There are probably more similarities but I havent been to Disney World for a while. Sox101 03:23, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Bad. Strong Bad.
I think the "Looks like I'm gonna have to jump!" thing is a reference to the James Bond film series. Strongkinghomsarsmith 02:52, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- How so? — Defender1031*Talk 02:52, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- I think Bond said it a couple of times. I would watch a movie right now to confirm it, but I don't think I have'em on VHS/DVD. Strongkinghomsarsmith 02:56, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- You think. Not notable if one only thinks. — MichaelXX2 02:59, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- Can someone just watch all the Bond movies please?! Strongkinghomsarsmith 03:02, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- I seriously hope that's a joke. — Defender1031*Talk 03:03, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- It's like watching every Star Wars movie to see which one had that funy (yes, I did that on purpose) quote. It would take all day. — MichaelXX2 03:05, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- Isn't the entire Dangeresque film series supposed to be a parody of James Bond? Homestar-Winner (talk) 03:07, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

- Or me. — MichaelXX2 03:24, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- I don't have the movies, OK? It's what my friend said, plus I seem to remember hearing it on a Bond film whilst channel-surfing. Strongkinghomsarsmith 03:29, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- This conversations is going nowhere. Please don't post here again without some sort of proof. Thanks. — Defender1031*Talk 03:30, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Template
Should we make a template listing all the Dangeresque movies and characters? BBG 17:37, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe... Strongkinghomsarsmith 02:44, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- I made an example in the sandbox, and I think that a Dangeresque template would be a good idea. ThePizz√ Pick 16:14, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Redirect "Dangeresque"?
At this rate, "Dangeresque" could really disambiguate a whole lot of stuff. Why don't we just get "Dangeresque" to redirect to Dangeresque (film series), since it is probably intended to be looked up in that way? --70.253.165.204 03:34, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- I see two problems with that already. A) The character is also named Dangeresque. Further, Dangeresque Too (at least in his email debut) is also referred to without the Too frequently enough. 2) The filename for the first Dangeresque Roomisode game is "dangeresque.html". The disambig solves both of these problems, as people might not know specifically what to search for and are offered all these options upon entering "Dangeresque" in the search field. I think it's far more useful as a disambig. --DorianGray 05:51, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Er...what?
Oh hi! I was looking at the disambig page and noticed that the link "puppet toon" links to Puppet Time instead of Puppet Stuff. Is this purposeful or just a goof? If it is, could someone fix it? Thanks! -Pingu5040
Names in transcripts
I suggested seven years ago that we have this discussion on this page, but it looks like it never got started. If we had the discussion on some other page, please direct me to it. Without further ado, why do the transcripts of the Dangeresque toons refer to the characters as their real names instead of their Dangeresque names? — It's dot com 23:01, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- I don't know. Only thing I can think of is that they keep going off script but I think it makes more sense to do it the other way. Guybrush20X6 23:27, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- I would actually be completely in favor of using the Dangeresque character names. The complications I can think of are:
- The times when people are out of character, which happens not infrequently
- The times when Strong Sad fills in as stunt double
- The fact that Bub's villian character isn't named in stunt double
- These, however, are not insurmountable. For #1, I'd suggest that we have a separate line of dialogue tagged as the person themselves and with a note reading "{Out of character}" at the start. For #2, I'm not sure that Strong Sad has any in-character dialogue as a character not usually played by himself, so the solution to #1 might be enough, but if there ARE any such instances that I'm neglecting, I'd add "{Played by Strong Sad}" to the transcript. For #3, I lean toward calling him "VILLIAN PLAYED BY BUBS" rather than Diamonocle, but I could hear arguments the other way as well. The transcripts should, of course, mention who is playing a particular character at their first appearance in each given toon. I think that should cover everything. — Defender1031*Talk 23:39, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- Something like:
- Dangeresque (Strong Bad):
- when he first speaks and afterwards is simply tagged "Dangeresque"? That works for me. Guybrush20X6 23:49, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- I think that's good. I also agree with giving Bubs's character a generic name in the toon where he's not named. — It's dot com 23:54, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- I'd use stage directions rather than parens for that, actually. Like {Cut to Dangeresque (played by Strong Bad) wearing cool shades and holding a nunchuck gun}. — Defender1031*Talk 23:57, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- I definitely support Dangeresque names. I don't think "DANGERESQUE (STRONG BAD)" is necessary, since each character's "actor" in the Cast list. If necessary, though, I think saying it in the stage directions would be fine. And I think Bubs's villain should just be written as Baron Darin Diamonocle, since he's named later on. After all, it says Fort Wayne Locomotive in Ballad of the Sneak Visuals. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 07:06, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
