Gulp

Gulp is an onomatopoeic word describing audible breathing or swallowing, usually used to express emotions like distress or nervousness.

The Homestar Runner characters will frequently speak the word "gulp" out loud, rather than simply performing the action itself. This "gulp!" is often preceded by nervous humming.

• Date Nite — said by Homestar Runner, in the midst of asking Marzipan if she "wants his bod."
• A Death Defying Decemberween — said by Homestar, after Bubs explains that Homestar's epitaph is printed on the sled.
• Cheat Commandos: Two Part Episode: Part 2 — said by Gunhaver, Silent Rip, and Crackotage, as the Topplegangers approach them.
• The Homestar Runner Enters The Spooky Woods — The Homestar Runner does this several times in this story.
• Dangeresque Roomisode 3: Keep My Enemies, Loser — Dangeresque speaks a "gulp" in response to a threat from Perducci. This scene was also included in the trailer.
