Scorpions
From Homestar Runner Wiki
- This article is about the animal. For the band, see Popular Music References#Scorpions.
Scorpions are predatory arthropod animals. They are easily recognized by the pair of grasping claws and the narrow, segmented tail, carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back, ending with a venomous stinger.
[edit] Appearances
- In Search of the Yello Dello — In both the old and new versions, Homestar Runner, Pom Pom, and Strong Sad come across a scene from Pitfall! wherein a pixelated scorpion is seen. The same scorpion appears again at the end of the toon and in the commentary, Strong Bad says, "Oh, you know those little guys creep me out, man. Like, I'll have nightmares where there's like a thousand of those little scorpions crawling all over me."
- Email your friends — Strong Bad releases a box full of scorpions to torture a mostly-buried Homsar.
- Email garage sale — In an Easter egg, Coach Z is holding a box of scorpions labeled "Great For Baby!"
- SBCG4AP Dev Blog from 14 May 2008 — Strong Bad comments on a scene from Pitfall II: Lost Caverns wherein a pixelated scorpion makes an appearance. Strong Bad does not seem to recognize it, saying, "I'm not sure who that silver french horn on the level below them is supposed to be."
- Baddest of the Bands — Strong Bad communicates that Marzipan could give him the entry fee (for the Battle of the Bands) to give to Bubs. Marzipan responds, "I could also comb my hair with live scorpions, but that doesn't make it a good idea." Later, Strong Bad confesses to Bubs that Marzipan didn't trust him with the money, and adds, "She doesn't trust scorpions as hairdressers either."
- Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective — Dangeresque calls Professor Experimento, "Mister 'you can't take a plastic bag full of scorpions into space'".
- 8-Bit is Enough — As Strong Bad enters the game Halfathlon, he encounters Coach Z being attacked by pixelated scorpions. Also, in order to complete the game, it becomes necessary to collect scorpion food, die at the stingers of scorpions, and turn over said scorpion food to Strong Sad, at which point Munchox the Devourer (a "scorpion monster" version of The King of Town) races in to afflict Strong Sad.
- Disk 4 of 12 - FriendlyWare — Strong Bad changes the code of the Sea Battle game to make the ship's depth charges leave a trail of ¥ characters, which he refers to as scorpions. He does this again in the addendum video.
