[edit] Thanks

Thank you for helping me. I still have a little trouble. Can you help me? As a newcommer, I have yet to uncover all the aspects of the wiki. I have seen Cheatachu72's 'main page' and I have a question about it. I sthat your talk page? Or is it something else. Thanks!Da cheese

That is not my page. I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Let me also give you a couple of pointers:
  • See your question up there? Notice how it goes way off the right side of the page. That is because you started the line with spaces. Now, look just below that. I copied your question, but took out the spaces. See how the formatting is different? You also have this happening on your user page. To fix it, you should take out the spaces at the beginning of each line.
  • Your name is in red up there because your user name is "Da cheese", with a lowercase c-, not "Da Cheese". Just about everything on the wiki is case-sensitive.
  • To sign your name on a talk page, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. That will insert your user name and a timestamp, like this: It's dot com 21:40, 11 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sections

It might make your user page more managable for you if you break it into sections. You've kind of already done that already, but there's a simpler way:

Instead of:

''' Overword '''
----

(words)

'''Current likings and crap'''
----

(more words)

You might try:

===== Overword =====
----

(words)

===== Current likings and crap =====
----

(more words)

If you use groups of equal signs on either side of the heading, it makes a new section. The fewer the equal signs, the bigger the heading ( == This is a big heading == ). The more the equal signs, the smaller the heading ( ===== This is a very small heading ===== ). If I copy the code from up there to down here, it looks like this (without the blue line):

[edit] Overword

(words)

[edit] Current likings and crap

(more words)

Notice how there's an edit button next to each section. This makes it easier to edit small parts of a page at a time. Oh, I almost forgot. On the heading with two equal signs on each side ( == this one == ), it puts a line in for you, but for all the lower ones, you would have to put a line in yourself if you want it there. — It's dot com 23:47, 13 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Okay, where to begin? First of all, you don't need to upload an image each time you want to use one on your user page. All you need to do is find the name of the image that's already on the wiki, and use that in the image link like you have been. Next, like I mentioned before, capitalization counts. There is a difference between "png" and "PNG", so you need to be sure you've got the right one, because they're not all the same. That's why the image of Commandos in the Classroom wasn't working. I have fixed it and put it back on your user page. (Also, I deleted the all the duplicate images you recently uploaded.) If you have any questions, just leave a note here. — It's dot com 23:20, 13 Sep 2005 (UTC)

All right, here's what I'm talking about. We already have this image here: Image:bestdecemberween.PNG. You don't need to upload another one, just copy that link and use it. — It's dot com 01:47, 14 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Da cheese... something's still not right. I need you to describe the exact process you're using to find these images for your user page. Try to be as detailed as possible. In the meantime, don't touch the "Upload file" link until we get this sorted out. Thanks. — It's dot com 21:27, 14 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Sorry. Am I doing something wrong? I guess so. I am Saving the pictures to my picture file. Then I go and upload the picture. When it is through uploading i save the picture. After the picture is saved I Copy the file and paste it. I apologize for the inconvenience and sincerely ask your forgiveness. By the way. I agree with all of the recent comments!!! You totally rock!!! Everything you say is positive!!!
All right. Now we're getting somewhere. You're going to a lot of extra work. The correct way is quite simple. Here are the steps you should take:
  1. Find an image you like.
  2. Click on it.
  3. Copy the image link.
  4. Use that link to place the image on a page.
Note: relatively speaking, we hardly ever need for an image to be uploaded if we already have it. Let's try it out. Click on this image: . Up above the image is the title. It looks something like this: "Image:ImageTitle". Copy that title, including the extension. Use that title to paste the image below. Remember, capitalization counts. Make it a thumbnail and give it a caption. I'll keep an eye out for it. — It's dot com 22:05, 14 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I just saw the image you put on your page, and that was the perfect way to do it. — It's dot com 19:31, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Hey Da cheese. To upload a file, you do it like you did with those other images. Click "upload file" at the left there, find the file on your hard drive, and follow the on-screen prompts. Then, it will give you an image link. That's what you place on your page like the other images there. — It's dot com 01:08, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I printed your page its cool. from blkstar13.
