[edit] Welcome to The Homestar Runner Wiki!

Hello, and welcome to The Homestar Runner Wiki! This is the best place, as you've probably noticed, to learn about anything and everything Homestar Runner. There are a couple of things you should read up on before you really start jumping in and editing -

If you have any questions, ask them up in the HelpDesk or ask some sysops or admins ('sysop' is just a special term for someone who watches over the wiki and has a few more rights than other users). I'm sure you'll catch on quickly, and all of the users are very nice here. Feel free to delete this message when you're done reading it, and I hope you stick around and join our team. Have fun! – Pertmywert (Talk·Edits),

[edit] STUFF

Trev - hello, this is The Smoking Monkey. I just caught your "little note for Venusy", and I'd like to try to smooth things over before you become embittered with the HRWiki. First off, I see you're new here. Secondly, I see that you're obviously intelligent and perceptive. Now, combining points one and two leads to point three - you want to contribute. Most wikiers here (minus the trolls, of course) want to contribute. But you should realize that this is a fast changing, often competitive, environment. Things get reverted. I can't speak for Venusy, but I don't think they were trying to hurt your feelings. They were just enforcing what they considered the rules here. You observation was STUFFed, and although the vote is currently going against it, you made a mark at the wiki. The key to success here is persistence and boldness, as vets here like to say. If you have good ideas, or good observations, don't hesitate to add them. No one here is going to try to tear you down for helping - but not everything you add will be kept. Some of it will be deleted or altered - the wiki can seem cruel and impersonal. But it's not meant to be that way. I would encourage you to keep trying, and don't let setbacks get you down.
