::::Apparently "Eggman" was a nickname given to him by Sonic 'n' friends, and not exactly an endearing one at that. Thus making it even more unlikely that Robotnik would take on the name. Dr. Eggman was named after the lyric in the Beatles' song. Also, isn't it suspicious how Homestar called Strongbad's head "eggman" in the exact same moment when the Municipality logo is shown. The Municipality logo (which is the head of the King of Town) seems to be attributed to Dr. Eggman's logo, right down to the lined teeth.  Dr. Eggman's logo is mostly used in the Sonic Advance series, and in Sonic Rush. I think it also is shown in the anime Sonic X. -GT Koopa March 21, 2006

When I heard Homestar refer to Head Bad as "Eggman" after receiving helpful career advice, I was reminded of a skit from a 1989 episode of Saturday Night Live called "The Egg Man".  It features Kathleen Turner as a troubled housewife who seeks solace from counseling sessions with a small egg with a human face (played by Phil Hartman). Transcript for the skit is [http://snltranscripts.jt.org/89/89ceggman.phtml here]. Related?

Oh, come ON! You guys are so freaking strict! I've seen PLENTY of references that aren't even so blunt! Like one on the Dangeresque 3 page, it's based on him just saying a word a certain way! How on earth could THAT be a reference when THIS isn't! Even one about a word just having 'stone' in it's name on 8-Bit Is Enough. That could be anything! You people are so stubborn! It's annoying! Also, let's look at the facts:

-
1: He is shaped like an egg, which is why Eggman is called Eggman.

-
2: The Municipality logo is practically EXACTLY the same!

-
3: He tricks Homestar into a bad idea, which Eggman frequently does to Knuckles in the games.

-
There are 3 things there that are PERFECT references. Yet you guys STILL disagree! Isn't the whole idea of this wiki to post your ideas? Well, I CAN'T because of you guys! Just listen for two seconds! Also, I'm in a kinda bad mood, so I MAY have gone a little overboard but JEEZ!!
