Talk Page Posts

Hi, I've noticed that you've commented on some talk pages about up-for-discussion pages. Your comments were unprofessional and unrelated to the usefulness or lack thereof of the page in question. While keeping a good sense of humor is encouraged, there is a line, which I believe you might have crossed. Please try to keep it professional in the future. Happy future tranglings! — Defender1031*Talk 19:33, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

You know it's very rude to remove a talk post without replying to it. I'm trying to help you here. — Defender1031*Talk 19:38, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

srry. im new to this. so how am i not being professional? --Acam30 19:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Here, for example let's take your edit to Talk:Tentacle Skull:
he should totally have his own page, because he is not just just a skull, he is a skull with tentacles, which may i point out is way better. --Acam30 19:18, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
It doesn't matter how much cooler a skull with tentacles is, it matters how often it's appeared in the cartoons, whether it was a big enough influence on the toon, etc.
Also, you edited my user page by mistake, i think you meant to edit my talk page. I moved your comment there. I would love to help you out. Any questions you can feel free to ask me (on my talk page, not my user page.) — Defender1031*Talk 19:49, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

o right srry i didnt realize there was a difference. but how do u get pictures on your page because i can't figure it out. --Acam30 19:51, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

o and thanx for the advice. --Acam30 19:52, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

The basic code for adding an image is [[Image:<imagename>]] and then you can add different things like |thumb and stuff. It might be a good idea to read up on wiki code, or study the code of a page that has something similar to what you want to do. — Defender1031*Talk 19:57, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

thanx :) --Acam30 19:58, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

do you have to but the less than signs around the name? cuz it still isnt working for me. --Acam30 20:02, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

no, in computer talk <example> is an example of something. the signs just say "this isn't what you actually write here, you write whatever should go here". Hope that helps. — Defender1031*Talk 20:24, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I saw on your user page u want tips to make it cooler? then make a user box! and put this awsome friend award!!!!

just edit copy the code above and paste in your user page it should work right defender? okay!!--Geoblu2 20:17, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Using Show Preview

Hello Acam30, I see that you have made several consecutive edits to the same page. I want to point out the Show Preview button. It's right next to the Save Page button when you edit. You should use it whenever you are making a lot of experimental edits, for example when you are trying to get formatting right. Using the Show Preview button is quicker and easier than saving and clicking "edit" again, and will keep recent changes and page histories from being flooded. Thanks,

--Stux 21:08, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks
Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I'll remember. --Acam30 21:10, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Not a problem! All it takes is a little practice and determination. Also, since the wiki is small we have a habit of keeping conversations in one place. Makes them easier to read. Take it easy. --Stux 21:15, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

You're goose is cooked

Just a single congraturation they had lying around the video game make place.

Can somebody get me a picture of when the goose is thrown at Strong Sad? I want it for me userpage but I don't know how to get it. And whoever gets me one... gets to be the coolest person ever. Thanks! --Acam30 21:41, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Here. If you need another picture of the site press the button on your keyboard that says "Print screen". Then, go into any drawing program and paste the image in. -PeterImage:Petersig.png

And here's your image of the lone congraturation. Keep in mind that this now marks your limit of two personal images. By the way, I can isolate just the congraturation by itself instead, if that's what you had in mind. OptimisticFool 03:04, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

I think only the one oyu gave me counts. I used the other picture for a userbox. --Acam30 04:20, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Since both of those images are used only on your userspace, I'm afraid they both count. You can abandon the goose one if you use one of these for your narrator userbox. It's up to you. OptimisticFool 08:07, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh alright thanks. --Acam30 16:45, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Sig

Speaking of sigs, you don't seem to have one. And you don't have to have one .. even some sysops don't .. but you seem like the kind of person that might want to express herself with a sig. Correct me if I'm wrong. OptimisticFool 22:33, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes but the wiki stuff is too complex for my brain. I'd like one but I'm really just to lazy to get one... or figure out how to get one, rather. --Acam30 22:36, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm happy to help, if you want. Did it for Señor Pacoman just recently. Let me know. OptimisticFool 23:00, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks that would be awesome! Could you make it pink and have a pic of Homsar? That's pretty much it. --Acam30 01:54, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Not enough information. =] Homsar in what pose? Full body or cropped or what? Floating, standing, talking, costumed .. decapitated? Here are a few images that are already on the wiki:
Or if there's another image on the site that you want, that works, too. Or if you want me to get another screenshot for it, I can do that, too. Any pose from any toon, and I can even remove the background (or make the background pink!) if you want. Be specific. =] OptimisticFool 08:06, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Or maybe you'll just like one of these:

or
••Acam30 chibipinkpg3.png
What do you think? =] OptimisticFool 09:16, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Chibi robo! I like the Homsar pic a lot... But that pink chibi is awesome. Could you make the font bold and not italic on both of them? I'm kinda leaning towards the Homsar one but I wanna see them with a different font. Thanks! This is so awesome! --Acam30 18:58, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Bold, without italics:

Background Colors

June 15
I'm getting the hang of user boxes kind of... but I need some help. How to you find the code for the backround colors? Thanks to anyone who helps!

Not sure if you'd gotten an answer to this yet... The codes for color are hexadecimal numbers and are commonly called RGB. They always start with the # sign and then are 6 digits long, the first 2 are how much red is in the color, the second 2 are for green, and the last 2 blue. 00 is the lowest value and FF is the highest. (The hexadecimal number 0xFF is 255 in decimal).

#ff0000 #00ff00 #0000ff

Some people who call themselves the "Web Design Group" have a little table reference of colors you might find handy.  Green Helmet 03:32, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

  • is VERY confused* I think I'll check out that color table thing... Thanks so much! --Acam30 04:19, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
