The Brothers Chaps have made many references to both the band Spinal Tap and the movie This Is Spın̈al Tap about them in some of their cartoons.

- Arcade Game — The page title, "Quite Exciting this Computer Magic!" is a quote from the movie.
- Fortune Cookies — One fortune reads "Have a good time, all the time". This is also a quote from the movie.
- Email death metal DVD commentary — Strong Bad compares the drummer of Brainkrieg to Joe Mama Besser.
- Email origins DVD commentary — Mike and Homestar Runner lift dialog from the film about harmonizing to "Heartbreak Hotel" when discussing Homestar's bread songs.
- Weclome Back — Homestar sleeps in a green ribcage shirt, the same as Nigel Tufnel.
