I think it should be refined a little bit. It should only include unusual instances, which would be evidenced by weird grammar ("a bigger waste of not water", for example). "Are you ever not running out of ink" just doesn't fit. --DorianGray 20:20, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

I agree that "Are you ever not running out of ink" is a not good example, but I think the page otherwise should be in the "Not to be deleted" list. --Jay (Gobble) 06:03, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

inclusion

Okay, so I agree that the little girl one is the only one I removed which clearly doesn't fit. I'll go ahead and address the others:

marzipan: The page talks about context. While "not" is used ingrammatically, the context doesn't seem odd. He's clearly just trying to make a confusing use of multiple negatives. It's not exactly the same gag.

carve-nival and other days: It seems to me hard to determine the grammatical intent of a single noun being negated (admittedly, this objection is dubious)

personal favorites: This is similar, but it's different, because like the little girl one, it's negating an adjective. While it does follow the "Not X" pattern, it doens't seem ungrammatical at all. DAGRON 07:57, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Dagron, I'm not sure if you were using the same or a different computer, but if you were using the same one, checking "remember me when I login" box (wording isn't exact) might help prevent such problems. Also, adding your signature to the end of your text would make it easier for readers to determine where your text ends. Anyway:

• marzipan - I agree, it's just used to confuse Strong Bad.
• carve-nival and other days - I disagree. First, notice that "Not Last" is used in the article's picture. It is in fact a very good example of the gag this article documents. Also, "not swim practice" is actually an awkward formulation of the phrase when used by itself (like in the email).
• personal favorites is a little borderline. While "not new" is valid and used in everyday language, it is never used to describe an item in a sensionalistic way.
• Marshie vs. Little Girl is actually borderline as well. The way she words it gravitates more towards the awkward. I'm not sure yet but it probably deserved re-inclusion.

So I'll go ahead and remove marzipan but keep the rest. Like I mentioned, I might reintroduce the little girl if it warrants it. --Stux 08:31, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I have "remember me" on but I was on a different computer momentarily. I moved the sig as well. So, the thing about little girl one, is that if it's intended to mean "stuff that is scary, and stuff that is not scary," then her "scary stuff and not scary stuff" is grammatical, but I do agree that her wording doesn't necessarily guarantee that that's the case. I disagree on marzipan; Strong Bad was deliberately using it to confuse Marzipan, but the second "Not" (the one immediately prior to his own name) sounds almost random. One generally uses the word "not" as a not adjective. --Jay (Gobble) 11:02, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Little Girl is out of place here. She is talking like a kid, and ad libbing. If she were doing TBC's script which said to say that, it would be notable. As it is, I doubt it is. So I removed it. - Qermaq - (^T/C)  22:26, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
