Possible Name Move

Since the title spelling is based on the IGN article, it's not clear if it should be Strongbadia the Free or Strong Badia the Free. Strong Bad has said it should be two different words in the past. Should we move the article now, or wait until official confirmation? wbwolf (t | ed) 13:49, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

I would like to move the article now. After IGN.com errored in at least 2 DVD reviews and despicably boasted about SBCG4AP coming July 21, I can't trust the name they gave this game BBG 19:12, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
I would suggest waiting it out until we have a clearer picture of this. Our only source uses this spelling, so we ought to keep it until something clearer shows up (such as releases from Telltale or TBC). Heimstern Läufer 21:23, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
It's "Strong Badia the Free," unless we are feeling really desperate and non-canon and remove the space for character-length reasons or something horrible. The in-game logo for the episode, much like the stop sign from which it came, reads "Strong Badia," though. TTGJake 06:05, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the info, Jake. I've fixed accordingly. Heimstern Läufer 06:54, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

KOT??

I noticed that there are few moments on the website where the KOT actually acts like a king. This is one of those few... Anyone else noticed that? senorsmallws7.png Parrothead1 senorsmallak8.png 17:53, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Homsar?

He isn't in the preview, what's the source that he's definitely in the game? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 17:16, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

IGN's sneak peak lists him being in it. - OkayGraphics 17:17, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Possible costume pieces?

I'm thinkin' the Dangeresque glasses will be available. Other items might include: Lotionman, The hor-ned helmet, Ab-abber markings, Freshley's shoeboxes, and Strongbad's snowflake shirt from happy dethemberween. amirite?

This is all speculation. --DorianGray 22:03, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

IGN's pictures

Here. Most notably, Homsar is in one of 'em. --Jay (Gobble) 22:42, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Spoiler warning?

Over on the Telltale forum, Strong Badia the Free's lead designer, Chuck Jordan, cautioned against reading IGN's hands-on article, due to it giving away more than it should have. Do you guys ever tag previews of unreleased material with spoiler warnings or anything like that? TTGJake 16:34, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

I just put up some type of spoiler warning near the link. There's probably a better way to word it, though. DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 16:51, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Date

I heard its coming 9/15

Meaningless unless you have a source to cite. OptimisticFool 22:33, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

ign IS MY SOUCRE in the hands on and on the game page at it too.

Ah, but what's IGN's source? It's possible that they're just estimating (September 15 roughly one month after Homestar Ruiner's release.) Homestar Ruiner came much later than expected, remember. --Jay (Gobble) 22:01, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I SAID IN THE HANDS ON PREVIEW AT PAX 08

I was at PAX '08 too, but I don't remember seeing anything about the 15th. Do you have any evidence? We're not saying you're wrong, just that we need some kind of verifiability. --Jay (Gobble) 00:56, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

If anyone told someone a date at PAX, it probably wasn't a Telltale employee. We haven't announced the date because we don't know the exact date. The moment we have a confirmed launch date agreed upon by everybody, we post it to the Telltale blog and forum -- and Telltale or Nintendo of America will always be the first people to post an accurate release date for an SBCG4AP episode. IGN, for instance, often lists a random date just to fill their database, but that information is usually just made up by someone taking a guess when updating their game database, and isn't based on reality. TTGJake 04:18, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

FYI, IGN sid it is the 14th, not 15th. DrPepper42 13:35, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

HEY THE DATE IS right yes in your faces YEAH!

We really don't need you to shout at the other users. And yes, it's confirmed. [1] --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 22:08, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
There's nothing "in our faces". We never said it wasn't the fifteenth. We were asking for evidence, which didn't show up until yesterday or so. And gloating is a poor way of staying on others' good sides. --Jay (Gobble) 23:49, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Sorry!

Played around with it a little, and...

I'm at work now so I didn't get far, but I still have the following queries and requests:

  1. Will we list the reponses pages by the normal names of the locations (such as Strong Badia the Free Responses (House of Strong)) or by their SBtF names (in this case, Strong Badia the Free Responses (Bleak House))?
  2. I propose a page on the Homsar Reservation.
  3. Will it be Strong Badia the Free Teen Girl Squad, Strong Badia the Free Cave Girl Squad, or just Cave Girl Squad? Whatever the case, the other two should be redirects.

-- Jay (Gobble) 18:18, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

I think we should use the place names as they appear on the map in each particular game, and maybe create redirects for consistency if it's different. I'm not sure if we really need redirects even. I also think I'll stop reading the wiki now until I've played the game.  Green Helmet 18:54, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
I think the TGS page should just be titled Cave Girl Squad. The one in Homestar Ruiner was only titled as it is, because it had no specific name. For the responses, there should be ones for Strong Badia (including all The Field areas), Bleak House, Homsar Reservation, Pompomerania, Country, Marzistar, and whatever the castle is called.
Also, should the tutorial be moved to its own page instead of leaving it on the Homestar Ruiner responses? As far as I'm aware, it's the same in both games... CloneWarrior 04:07, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Yes the tutorial is exactly the same in this game as it was in the first. So, it should probably be pulled out of Homestar Ruiner and put someplace common between the games, or on it's own page.  Green Helmet 04:13, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Should Strong Badia/The Cheat and Tireia and Concessionstantinople have separate responses pages, or be put together? The only reason I ask at all is because Strong Badia was fairly important to the plot, and had at least one cutscene, It might be too crowded to Field them all together. --DorianGray 07:06, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

The Cheat and Tirerea? No. Concessionstan(tinople; it's called both)? Maybe, but realize that there's an entire rest of The Field there too. --Jay (Gobble) 07:09, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, hence the slash. Whichever the Field and Concessionstantinople become, separate or together, Strong Badia and The Cheat and Tireia should be together. --DorianGray 07:19, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Though when I think about it, what DOES happen in Strong Badia besides a short portion of the intro and the scene with The Cheat and Tireia? Frankly, that's probably less than takes place in Marzistar or Bleak House. Though while we're on the subject, another thing occurred to me (that would not have occurred to me when I made this topic as I hadn't managed to get that far yet ;): the strategy segment at the end. Lump it with The Castle or make it separate? --Jay (Gobble) 07:25, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh, yeah, totally. The board game, I think, should definitely be a separate page. It's a full interactive game in itself, rather different than the last minigame (the Race to the End of the Race), where the only obstacles to victory (after extensive cheating) was timing. This one, though, is a whole, separate game that requires its own strategies and can really depend on the player's own skill and tactics. It also has its own responses and dialogue within the game, and doesn't last 22 seconds or less like the Race does. In fact, I actually have a board game just like it in real life. It definitely deserves its own page, I say. --DorianGray 07:35, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

How long to wait?

I've noticed a ton of Inside References and Real-World References in playing through the game, but most of them would be spoilers. How long should we wait before compiling a list? TJDevil02

Go for it. --Jay (Gobble) 22:50, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Battle Royale, really?

I think the exploding-collar-on-a-prisoner reference might be more likely from Wedlock, a horrible movie with Rutger Hauer (IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103239/) Of course, it depends on what the collar looks like, I'd imagine.

So what's the story?

For anyone that has downloaded it already, will it replace the current Homestar Ruiner channel? Will all the episodes be condensed into one channel or will they each have their separate channel? Can anyone clear this up for me? Thrashmeister 00:19, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Separate channels. --Jay (Gobble) 00:22, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Cave girl Squad

Can someone post the solution? -Philip8o

Still trying to sort it out. I know you get laughs, rather than chuckles, when you:
  1. Give a girl a dinosaur egg in the first phase and let her live through the end of the third phase.
  2. Give a girl the tablet and chisel, in that order. Might need to be done after the first phase.
  3. Give the dog during the third phase.
  4. Give any girl Charles Darwin in the final stage (I'm pretty sure the final stage only happens if all the girls are dead before then.)

Oddly, with four laughs and one chuckle, I still got "perfection". The chuckle-death I got on "perfection" involved giving the ribbon during the third phase. Most of the responses are not girl-specific as far as I can tell. So and So reacts differently to the wheel than the others, but I haven't achieved a death out of it. --Jay (Gobble) 06:32, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I give up. Where's an Egg? TJDevil02

Do I Smell A Zelda Reference?
