"Pfff. What a cop-out."

The term cop-out means to avoid taking responsibility for an action, fulfilling a duty or meeting expectations. On the website, someone, usually Strong Bad, will usually say this in the context of an excuse of something not happening either fully or at all.

• Email dangeresque 3 — Strong Bad shows the director's cut of Dangeresque 1 as a "cop-out" for not making Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective.
• Flashforward — When Homestar Runner tells Strong Bad they are doing a flashback show, he replies, "Awesome! I love a good cop-out!"
• Email web comics — Strong Bad hypocritically remarks that ripping off viewers' input for content is a "cop-out".
• SBCG4AP Dev Blog — The title for the Sept. 15, 2008 entry is "Total Cop Out".
• Sbemailiarized! — Strong Bad says of Sbemailiarized Entertainment, "It's not a rerun or a cop-out!"
• Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 17.2 — One of the lyrics to sloshy's new song is "And is this a gimmick? Or a cop-out? And is there a difference?".
• Later That Night... Teaser — Decompiling the Flash file reveals the message "total cop-out" underneath the silhouettes.
