Outkast (sometimes written as OutKast) was an influential hip hop duo consisting of rappers André 3000 and Big Boi, active from the early 90s through the mid-00s.
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, the members of Outkast are prominent figures in southern hip hop; as The Brothers Chaps are also from the Atlanta area, this may have contributed to their enjoyment of the group. In a 2003 interview, Mike Chapman listed the group as among his favorite musicians.
[edit] Appearances
- Email spring cleaning — At the end, Strong Bad speaks in lyrics from the band's song "So Fresh, So Clean": "I feel so fresh and so clean, clean..." followed by another lyric: "Ain't nobody dope as me!"
- Email autobiography — Excerpts of several reviews of Words I Probably Said simply state "Hootie Hoo!", a repeated line from the song of the same name on Outkast's debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.
- Halloween Fairstival — At the end, Coach Z misinterprets Pom Pom's Big Boy costume as Big Boi, remarking that he was considering going as André 3000.
- The House That Gave Sucky Tricks — Over a decade later, Coach Z finally dresses as André 3000 as seen in the music video for "Hey Ya!". In the video, André 3000 plays all eight members of the fictional band The Love Below: keyboardist Benjamin André, bassist Possum Aloysius Jenkins, vocalist André "Ice Cold" 3000, drummer Dookie Blossom Gain III, three backing vocalists the Love Haters, and guitarist Johnny Vulture; this is represented by Coach Z appearing in different outfits throughout the toon, culminating in him cycling between costumes for all the group members (excepting Vulture) while repeating the song's iconic "all right" bridge.
