Big Knives

A big-type knife is better than a small-type knife.

The Big Knife is one of the oldest recurring items in the Homestar universe. This inside joke's first appearance is in the email i love you, as part of the Painting of a guy with a big knife. A similar knife appeared earlier in the Theme Song Video, but it was not referred to by name at the time. Since then, the Big Knife and other similar knives have appeared in numerous other emails and toons. Strong Bad seems to have a particular — albeit unexplained — affinity for them. Big knives almost always appear with serrated edges.

• In the Theme Song Video, Strong Bad throws a big knife at Strong Sad while he is strapped to a spinning wheel.
• In i love you, Strong Bad's weapon of choice makes its email premiere in his Painting of a guy with a big knife.
• In band names, one of the band names Strong Bad suggests is "Bigg Nife."
• In flag day, the Big Knife appears in the clutches of a snake on the Strong Badian flag.
• In Everybody to the Limit, Strong Bad pops out of the Visor Robot with knife in hand.
• In japanese cartoon, even Stinkoman gets a piece of the big knife action by posing with it in a cool manner.
• In marzipan, Strong Bad asks The Cheat if he could borrow "that big knife."
• In couch patch, Strong Bad cuts a hole in The Couch with a big knife so he can hide his "Aztec gold."
• In army, the Painting of a guy with a big knife apparently turns traitor and becomes a member of the Homestarmy.
• In CGNU, one of the requirements to get into the Crazy Go Nuts University is to draw a picture of the aforementioned Guy with a big knife.
• In Teen Girl Squad Issue 9, The Ugly One carves "BFF" into a tree with a big knife.
• In myths & legends, the painting of a guy holding a big knife appears in a constellation as one of the seven elemental spirits of Strong Badia.
• In alternate universe, one of the panels in the Strong Badman comic features a woman holding a big knife.
