The bird

Hey KieferSkunk. That issue is being discussed on Talk:Lack of Visible Arms, and isn't really a STUFF question. But you should definitely add your thoughts there. — It's dot com 17:01, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

Huh, sorry. It seemed like a STUFFable item - similar things are being discussed on other discussion pages. - KieferSkunk 17:07, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
Dot com: So I understand this, what are the rules for STUFF'ing an item, then? I've been told/encouraged repeatedly to STUFF fun-facts, so I think it's a little odd that when I finally did STUFF one that seemed significant, I was told not to. Can you clarify this? Thanks. - KieferSkunk 17:12, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
Fun facts are listed on toons. You don't see them so much on articles. Notice that the heading for the section where this goes is called References, not Fun Facts. For articles, we try to keep all of the discussion on the talk page. There is a little bit of overlap, and you possibly could have STUFF'd this if you'd gotten to it first... but since there is already an ongoing discussion, that is where you should voice your opinion. Thanks for asking. :) — It's dot com 17:18, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

signage

hey thanks for signing my page, but you actually signed the test page that is being deleted. Can you sign the real page? Thanks I R F 00:30, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

Congrats to Bubsty

Just wanted to leave a quick note in my own Talk congratulating Bubsty on a valiant effort to battle the trollbots we experienced earlier today. I tried to help as well, but I was only able to affect about 5 or 6 pages before the site went down completely. (Plus, I had to do actual work, too.)

So, great jorb there, Bubsty! - KieferSkunk 07:59, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Thank you. And congrats on your defender of the wiki award! — talk Bubsty edits 20:00, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Defender of the Wiki

The fluoride sting
Even in the midst of the blitzkreig of trollbotting on the night of November 11, 2005, KieferSkunk had his wits about him. Along with a host of other stout-hearted users he became a first responder, reverting before the insolent foe had even completed his ill-fated career. For promptitude of the first degree, this barnstar is hereby awarded. —AbdiViklas 08:21, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
I definately agree. I think you were the first one (other then me) to notice the trollbot. Congratulations!!! — talk Bubsty edits 16:24, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
Aww, thanks you guys. :) - KieferSkunk 17:12, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Splitting the nicknames

Er, hey KieferSkunk. Several people are asking on the talk page why the nicknames are being split. I think you should reply before continuing. Thanks. — It's dot com 22:59, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

I did. I stated that I was just helping another user who had started this process. I've stopped, and I don't mind if you revert my changes. (I'll redo the links in Homestar's section again if necessary.) - KieferSkunk 23:02, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, I see now that you were just following Invisible Robot Fish's example. I think the splitting makes the page harder to read, but that's my opinion. — It's dot com 23:04, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

RE: You're local!

Cool! Yeah, I've lived here all my life. And I have friends in Mill Creek, which I think is close by. — talk Bubsty edits 23:52, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Neat. I came from California, myself - born in Oregon, lived in CA from when I was 1 up until about 4 years ago. Been here ever since, and I love it here. Maybe we should meet up sometime! - KieferSkunk 23:56, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Signature testing

Okay, I just wrote my new signature, and I thought I read that it was supposed to be a retroactive change (if I make changes to the sig and I have a properly formatted sig line elsewhere in the wiki), but I'm not seeing that behavior. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 00:35, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

See, now THAT'S how it's supposed to look, right there. But take a look at STUFF/space program - my sig in the "Hap Arnold" STUFF isn't formatted the same way, even though I am using the correct sig line. Why's that? — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk)
Huh, now it's working. Weird. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk)
Yeah, I was writing this at the same time you wrote that. So anyway, what I was going to say (this may still come in handy) was:
Well, I would first correct the recent changes patrol link (It's HRWiki:Recent changes patrol). Then... I think I know what you did. Before you can do the cool ~~~ (tilde shortcuts), you have to go to your preferances.

Now, where it says Nickname:_________, type in {{User:KieferSkunk/sig}}.

Now, below, where theres a box where, next to it, it says Raw Signatures (with out automatic link). Check that box. Now the whole ~~~~~~~~ thing will work! — talk Bubsty edits 00:45, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

I had done that - followed all the steps, though I had to redo them a couple of times. But even when everything was setup right, my sig was still showing up un-bolded (that was a change I made after getting the template to work correctly). It later seemed to correct itself. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 00:51, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Oh. My bad. — talk Bubsty edits 01:09, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Your signature page doesn't automatically update itself until someone makes an edit on the page where it is. The reason it fixed itself is because someone else voted on that STUFF item, and when it saved the page it used the new, bolded version of the sig. — It's dot com 01:13, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Ahh, I see. So it constructs the "display" version of the page on each save, not each time it's viewed? Makes sense. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 01:14, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks! Did you see my edits on Awexome Cross and Population: Tire as well? :) — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 23:42, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
Well... I have now! Nice goin! — talk Bubsty edits 00:48, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

hey ya

Hi! Thanks for visiting my page. If you have anything that you want me to add or change or whatever you can leave a message on my talk page. Again, thanks for coming over.--Homsarroks 01:40, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Sig-ness.

I realized just now that my sig looks freaky-similar to yours. I probably saw it on a talk page a while ago and decided that my sig should look something like that. I never knew it turned out so similar. Heh. - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)

Nay, you've been here longer than I have. I modeled my sig after yours. :) — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 18:26, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
Lol. I'm seeing double! O_o --Stux 19:12, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
Btw, Kiefer, the "talk" part of your sig isn't a link for me. I don't know whether it's just me, or whether something's missing there! —AbdiViklas 20:45, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
Is that on all pages or just this one? You can't click on a link to a page if you're already on it, as I will now demonstrate: User talk:KieferSkunk. See how it's unclickable? --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 20:49, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
For any page that links to itself, the link becomes plain text. It just works out that way. — Lapper (talk) 20:51, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
Abdi: What they said. :) Check and see if the Talk link works on other pages, like STUFF/space program. It should work from there. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 21:02, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
Yeah yeah, wight wight. Makes sense. —AbdiViklas 21:26, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Edit conflict

Heh. Sorry 'bout the edit conflict. Guess I got a little anxious. :) — It's dot com 19:39, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

It happens. I didn't really get a chance to finish STUFF'ing that one, though. Also, I really do think the title I put up is more appropriate to the fact in question - it has to do with the fact itself, and not the argument against it. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:41, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
I dunno. I think the other title was kinda long (and what about poor Coach Z?). And the one there now can apply to either side. I guess you say potater, I say potatamorts. You say tomater, and I say forhorgalingrads. — It's dot com 19:49, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
What about "The Floating Marshie Balloon of Doom!" (ref to Main Page 23? ;)) — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:51, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
PS: Take a look at the arguments again - I think your arg against is flawed. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:51, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
Nah. I realize we don't know whether there were injuries in that episode, but that wasn't why I chose it as an argument. — It's dot com 20:16, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
By the way, I do think the information contained in the item is interesting. I'm just not sure it's a reference. — It's dot com

Ooh, that revision is much better. I'm still not ready to vote for it, but it's definitely better. — It's dot com 22:29, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks! — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 22:34, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Seriously!

User:Seriously was right about 50 emails, but I'm sure there are several places where Homestar Runner, well, reads. I like to keep only two or three examples in a fact, but it doesn't really matter. Thanks for fixing it up. —FireBird|Talk 22:04, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

No problem. :) I saw his original point, and I considered expounding on it (giving a reason as to why 50 emails was significant). But like I said in the edit, that didn't excuse him being a jerk about it. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 22:06, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
You can't be serious! That ball was on the line! I don't believe this! (Sorry... I couldn't help it.) :) — It's dot com

No thanks

No, I don't need a greeting. I've been Wiki-ing for nearly 2 years now. I'm fluent enough in Wiki. And no, don't give me that "You're new to HR Wiki though", because I'm really, really not. Seriously, you people are too nice, and I don't need two hundred greeting messages every time I join another wiki. Sorry that I'm lashing out at you, but by your logic "I'm too noob to even edit correctly", so please, extend this message to the greetings parties, that they should check WHEN the user created his/her account. In fact, if you just did a quick Google search for "RPharazon", you would conviniently find my Wikipedia Profile as the first result. Thank you for your time. - RPharazon 00:37, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

Heh, sorry. I try to extend the standard greeting message to all users who don't have a Talk page yet. And unless I'm missing something, I don't have a way of knowing when your account was actually created, except by looking at your Contributions page. That's why I mentioned that you'd been here for a while in the Recent Changes comment.
Anyway, sorry to have annoyed you. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 00:41, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
Wow. That guy made two main namespace edits in the course of a year; I think you were correct to welcome him. Especially since nobody ever had. I bet he's a real hit at parties, though. — It's dot com 01:00, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
Nobody ever welcomed me? What about Here?

Also, I've nearly never made major edits because my edits are auto-set to minor. All I do on wikis is browse like a maniac, and fix any problems that so occur. I also contribute a little, add images, and fix general grammar and punctuations. I just don't use the preview button a lot. - RPharazon 02:04, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
