The Magical Spit-Bubble

When Strong Sad Has A Spit-Bubble Stuck In His Throat, His Voice Goes Ultra-Deep. Yet, When Homestar Has A Spit-Bubble In His Throat, His Voice Goes Ultra-High, In Fact, Exactly Like Marzipans. Shouldn't both Their Voices Go One Way? -- Assassinator666 07:46, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't want to delve too deep into the physics of voice altering spit bubbles here (because I know squat about that), but I don't know why this should not be possible. It's, uhm, also funnier this way. Loafing 10:35, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
OBEY THE FUNNY! Also, save this Flash file to your computer, in case this goes the way of the Broken Compy Menu. —BazookaJoe 12:18, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
I did an experiment about what spit bubbles in your throught make you sound like. They make yoyu sound kinda like Stitch. Or, If your yelling, Strong Mad.

It's a reference to the Princess Bride, where the guy in the Pit of Despair has a similar problem with his voice, no? --66.213.14.20 23:56, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

That gag was pulled in PB, and that's probably one of the more famous examples, but I'm not sure if it was the first or a reference or anything. Trelawney
As a fan of The Princess Bride, I doubt it's a reference. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:53, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Dolph's Phone Number

Also, The Phone Number For The Axe-Training Poster, I Found Out, Is The Same As Daniel Ortega From The N.I.P . I Have NO Idea Why I Looked This Up. -- Assassinator666 10:07, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Whoever Daniel Ortega from the N.I.P. is, he does not want to be called (the number does not exist). Loafing 10:35, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Unlinked

Is it notable that this is not linked from anywhere except the main page oval? How would we note it if it is? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 13:59, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

This is not a short!
I've changed the category to reflect that it isn't in the TV Guide at all. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 14:10, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Munchy munchy

Is it safe to assume that this is another instance of the KOT eating people's property?--The4swordImage:The4swordssigpicisbetterthanyours.PNG 19:42, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Another? --DorianGray
3 Times Halloween Funjob comes to mind. And suntan. Though I'm not sure this necessarily qualifies as a running gag. --Jay (Gobble) 19:59, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
This fits in so neatly with his character that these need only be mentioned on his character page. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 20:02, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Guitar fun fact

I liked this fact (although would suggest it be reworded by someone better than me):

  • "Furious Fingers" claims to have 17 guitars with 43 necks. With a ratio of roughly 2.5 necks per guitar, he must own several triple necked guitars and likely a few doubles as well.

The notable thing isnt so much the presence of the guitars, but the sheer number of multi-necked ones (if only 3 neck and one necked, then 13 would have to be triple, or 8 double and 9 triple), which strikes me (although i will admit that I am musically challenged at best) as a bit odd. Assuming no more than 3 necks per guitar (which I accept is wrong, but more seems to be rare from the Wikipedia article), over half have to be triple for this to work. DumbMuscle 19:52, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Multiple-necked guitars are not so unusual - especially back in the 80's, you saw them quite a bit. Is it unusual for someone who collects guitars to have a lot of them? I guess it comes down to this: it doesn't seem notable because it's obvious from context that many of the guitars have to have multiple necks. Well, im no math genious, but hwen it comes to guitars, i know guitars. here is a real triple neck guitar for those doubting their existance. ---COLA 21:56, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Okay, this is why wikis should be a bit more down-to-earth. Here we are, talking about double and triple necked guitars, but we never gave the idea of the KoT PLAYING A GUITAR!?! Especially a 'lectric one. A, he's got no talent (sides eating), and B, he's not exactly cool. We seriously need to be more down-to-earth. Not kidding, guys. -Image:Bubs.gif Sluggy42(Talk|Cont.) 00:35, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Well, there was that Sketchbook image that showed the KoT as a member of ZZ Top... The Spainish Inquisition 01:59, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Two words: NO ARMS. seriously guys. fingers without arms... right. csours 02:07, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

What have I done?

Dear god, what have I done? I email a completly random thing to SB, and then THIS happens. I feel sick. Then again, the lappy needed to go. I think it was having an affair with Marzipan's answering machine. Cessna Man! 21:40, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

This is strictly Forum discussion. But don't let it get you down. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:44, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Man, Man, I'd give anything to have my email answered, and much more to have it be so important. Your email is part of Homestar Runner history! —BazookaJoe 22:27, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Future Category

So far this toon is only linked from the main page, but that is expected to change once the Brothers Chaps finish this story arc. While it will probably end up as a "Short", would it also be acceptable to classify this as a "Not-Quite-Strong-Bad-Email"? --The Real Zajac 15:45, 25 Sept 2006 (PDT)

Well, it is categorized as such now. The categories are based on the TV Time menu on the site. As this is not in that (yet), it's premature to classify it as a Big Toon, Short or whatever. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:57, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Crocodile Neighba

Sorry, I didn't realize that had been added/removed before. But aside from that, I think it's a pretty clear reference to "Pearls Before Swine." The crocodile next-door neighbors regularly appear in the strip trying to trick Zebra. I don't think TBC would just pull a crocodile next door asking to borrow a cup of sugar out of thin air. 128.227.130.28 04:48, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

I thought of this ref too, but didn't add it for whatever reason. Lazy, perhaps. --DorianGray
I've read PBS daily until about a year ago, and I don't think there's a reference here. I mean, Homestar is not trying to trick SB. Sure, it sounds as if it could be a reference, but Homestar might just as well be weird as usual. Loafing 04:55, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Strong Bad's Phone Number

Based on the tones I'm hearing at the start of the e-mail, it seems like Strong Bad's phone number is 415-6715. Is that something worthy of putting in the Fun Facts Somewhere? --Hyrulian 04:58, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
