- As per the inclusion guideline, "Page relating to a H*R-specific item needs only one appearance in Homestar Runner toons, as long as it played an important role." The tomatocycle is certain HR specific, and I would argue it had an important role: It was shown twice, beginning and end (and had done something interesting, namely, falling apart, between these appearances), it was specifically focused on, when Strong Mad pulled it out and the toon zoomed in on it, and the page title referred to it specifically and by name. - Neither of those facts constitute a important role in the toon. As of now, it's a one off gag. I'm not saying we shouldn't document the Tomatocycle, but there simply isn't enough interesting content about it to warrant a page. 98.222.134.36 13:13, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

- The main flaw with 128.103.10.135's argument is that all those articles are for products unique to H*R. You will not be able to buy a can of C'mon! It's FOG!, Fthoom-Bang fireworks or a bottle of Hamburger Shampoo in the real world, which is why they are allowed to have their own articles, even though they appear just once. The Tomatocycle, however, is not a product, nor is it completely specific to H*R. Anyone could make a model motorcycle out of sausages and tomatoes. (I bet there's at least one website that does this sort of crap all the time.) Yes, TBC have gone the extra mile and given it an actual name, but does it really play an important role in the toon it appears in? No, I do not think so. The Cheat's day would not have been any different had Strong Mad not made that Tomatocycle. It is also not as important as The Blue Ones because it is not a major plot device used to motivate any of the characters. After summing up this argument so far, I'm leaning towards a delete. Having a page on Strong Mad's tomatocycle is like having an article on Strong Mad's origami lotus flower and praying mantis from unused emails. – The Chort 18:08, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

- Not once in the Hrwiki:inclusion guidelines is there any mention it needs to be a product. On the contrary it claims that it only needs to be 1: An important plot item (received a close-up, fell apart as a gag and mentioned in page description), 2: It must be a seperated entity that is not an item that is part of his character (i.e. no Poopsmith shovels) and 3: must be unique to the H*R universe. Nowhere on the internet will you find a Tomatocycle (what kind of excuse was that "I bet a lot of people do that" thing without even backing it up). As it is all three, the only reason one might find to delete it is their opinions. Since this page has all requirements, I see no reason to delete it except for the fact that you don't like this page.
- Also note that it did, in fact, motivate a character. It was Strong Mad's example for what they were just talking a boot. It acted as an important item for the sub-plot. Goodbye and stop whining, eh --Jellote 22:14, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- First of all, I did not say that it needs to be a product to have its own article. Back then, I was pointing out a problem in a previous argument that had been made. The point I wanted to make was that it needs to be specific to the website, and I'm not sure that a few sausages and tomatoes arranged in an unusual manner fits that category enough to deserve an entire article. Secondly, I do not agree that it was an important item intergral to the plot of the toon, nor that it provides any motivation to Strong Mad. Thirdly, I certainly do not want to have this article deleted because I don't like it, as you claim. Instead, I feel that the Tomatocycle is not relevant enough to deserve its own article. Finally, Jellote, I do not like your attitude towards me at all. Wether intentional or not, your reply seems to have come across quite harsh. It is absolutely fine to disagree with my thoughts, but you seem to be verging on flaming. Please can we discuss the merits of this article without using aggressive language like "Goodbye and stop whining" or personal critisisms? I think what this talk page really needs is some more views and opinions so that this discussion can develop further. – The Chort 16:04, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

- Smartkidhen, I don't understand your argument; if the Tomatocycle is already on the Minor Foods article (which I see as the perfect place for this information as it is a minor item and is technically a food), why would we need an article containing the same information? We should always avoid having duplicate copies of information on this wiki (see HRWiki:Once And Only Once). Why couldn't we just merge this article with Minor Foods? Also, just because it's in a toon doesn't make it important per se. Otherwise, we'd end up with individual articles for every single item ever featured on every single toon on the website. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having special articles like Minor Foods which encompass all these themed, one-time throw-away gags. – The Chort 19:48, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Now that a couple months have passed since this discussion took place, and no further sightings have been seen, should a decision about this be reached? It seems most are leaning towards deleting the page, and restoring it if it should ever pop up again. For now, it seems the Tomatocycle should stay only on Minor Foods.
