This isn't Wikipedia, so there are some instances where these rules can be bent. But all in all, it's good to keep in mind. 04:42, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I'm new to hrwiki, and the articles that I find most interesting are the analysis of character dialogue (such as Homsar's speech patterns) and the running word gags. I nominated a few that I find myself returning to frequently after viewing HR toons. The character pages are not nearly as thorough, interesting, or educational. I would never have known what a "word salad" or "portmanteaus" without these pages.

:Hello! Thanks for your noms, and thanks for reading. We'll certainly consider them. —BazookaJoe 23:40, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm seeing a lot of emails build up at the bottom. I really don't think an email (other than flashback) should be a featured article. 01:48, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

:alternate universe might be nice, too. And others have pivotal parts. Emails are a key element of the site, and at least a few should be featured someday. None have as of yet, though. --DorianGray

I think Stinkoman 20X6 should be a featured article. I mean, seriously! It's the biggest progect that The Brothers Chaps ever made! --Homestar Cheetah

:I like that idea, except we should probably wait until it's finished.  It shouldn't be too long. - 21:10, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

I think What's Her Face is an interesting article, or any of the TGS Main Characters.  And, in order to save space, I'll also push for Taranchula.  I think their page has gotten big enough to be featured.

What do we use this page for?
-

-
I've been thinking lately about how I never actually use this page as part of the process of selecting featured articles. I brought this up briefly on IRC, and found most other people I talked to didn't use it either. So I'm curious: are people using this page? And if so, what for? 22:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

:It's entirely possible that some people might use this to do some initial searching for articles which they might not otherwise know are there. If I were more involved in the FAS process, I probably would use this page. I'm not in favor of deleting or severing all ties, but it seems that a restructuring in order. This page seems to have reached its maximum potential for good articles, but we seem to be lacking good, healthy participation in FAS. Perhaps we should make FAS more visible to the average user or candid reader who would like to have a say. My proposal is this: replace the Nominate this article link on the main page with a Help select a future featured article link. We'll make FAS a more active and open place. And then we will hang up a link to this page at the top of FAS for anybody who is brainstorming for articles. —BazookaJoe 23:15, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

::Yes, let's do that. 18:24, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

-
:::That doesn't look very good on the Main Page, as some of the words then go on to another line. Plus, this makes the second link crammed on the right side of the box. Is there a shorter thing we can say? 00:13, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

-
::::I shortened it to Help select featured articles. I never noticed it was a problem because I have a widescreen monitor. Does it work now? —BazookaJoe 00:19, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

-
:::::Still, the word articles is on another line on my computer. 00:22, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

::::::Okay, taking 'featured' out should do the trick. —BazookaJoe 00:36, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Strong Bad's Mask vs Homestar's Pants.
-

-
How about an article paralleling Homestar's tight pants (or lack there of) as to wether he wears a mask that he never removes, or if that's his face & the strings in back are in fact braids.

-
I'd also like to see "Strong Bad offending Marzipan" as both a parallel to "Homestar Offending Marzipan" & as part of the debate on whether he has a crush on her or hates her as much as or more than Homestar.--67.161.122.193 05:12, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Whatsit?
-

-
All that Whatsit does is state the apparences. (Like the apparences section doesn't do a good enough job.) I think it should be taken off the featured article nomination list. 00:47, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

-
:Nah, we never really remove noms from this page. I don't even use it, really, except occasionally to view a list of articles people have named as possibilities. 01:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

-
::Also, I disagree with your assessment of the article. Some amount of summary of the list of appearances is desirable, as it's one of the only ways to avoid an "often appears"-style article. 01:46, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

-
:::Im just saying, the only other thing is this sentence: Whatsit is a name for the commodity that The Poopsmith shovels, also known as You-Know-What and crap.

::::Do you want a complete explanation of what fecal matter is? 13:43, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

:::::No, I'm saying we should say what we should maybe include something else, or move to Pile of Whatsit and add more info for it to be ready to be featured. 14:48, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

I know we don't really remove articles from this, but I think we should make an exception in this case. It's a disambig page! 19:02, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Point
-

-
What exactly is the point of this page? We could easily put every page on the Wiki on this page. And also, the list is outdated (none of the entries after Week 3 have been bolded). RickTommy 07:08, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

-
:I'm not thoroughly convinced we need this page anymore, but it certainly isn't hurting anything to keep it around. It does have the potential for people to use it to get ideas for articles to suggest at FAS (not that I myself use it that way). 08:43, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

-
::I disagree.  At the very least, this page can be used to keep track of what has been featured before (and I have used it before making a suggestion to verify that my suggestion hasn't already been featured).  So, as long as it's kept up regularly I think it's very much of use.  --Stux 14:07, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
