[edit] Flip! Jump! Spin! Sonic?
Stinkoman's flipping as he jumps may be a reference to Sonic The Hedgehog's Spin Jump.

Arguments for:
Arguments against:
- Many characters jump and flip in many different kinds of games. If anything, this may be more of a reference to various ninja-type games, like Ninja Gaiden.
- There are so many examples of characters spin-jumping that it should be considered a staple of the game genre, and not a reference to any specific game.
- Stinkoman cannot use his jump to destroy enemies, and he may not spin without jumping, while Sonic can do both.
- I think the first game to use this was probably Nintendo's wikipedia:metroid.
Additional comments:
- This has gone in and out of references, with various examples, including Samus' Screw Attack. Maybe just make it a general reference, encompassing a load of games.
- I don't know... How would that be worded? "A lot of characters in video games spin when they jump. Stinkoman does too"? That seems more like a character description than anything. Do we really need a fun fact to tell us that?
- See above - I believe it should just be considered an integral part of the genre.
- Question for my own benefit: Is this an example of a TTATOT?
