James Huggins III is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. A fellow Georgia native and childhood friend of The Brothers Chaps, Huggins is notable for being "the first human on the planet Earth to use the three words 'Home', 'Star', and 'Runner' together," giving the inspiration for Homestar Runner's name.

[edit] "Home Star Runner for the Braves"

Jamey has been friends with The Brothers Chaps since kindergarten. He and Matt Chapman would occasionally write and perform hip-hop songs together in their youth.

In the early 90s, estimated by Huggins to be around 1992, a local Winn-Dixie commercial featured Atlanta Braves second baseman Mark Lemke, promoting that just as Lemke made "all-star saves" on the field so too could shoppers "save" at Winn-Dixie supermarkets. Huggins would impersonate the announcer but, being unfamiliar with baseball positions, riffed that Lemke was the "Home Star Runner for the Braves". In one retelling of the story, Matt remarked that the brothers considered the term Homestar Runner "the best thing we've ever heard!", leaving enough of an impact to be recalled years later in 1996 for the creation of the Original Book.

[edit] Collaborations

Apart from indirectly contributing the name, Huggins has relatively little involvement with the Homestar Runner body of work. According to the DVD commentary for lures & jigs, Jamey visited The Brothers Chaps while they were working on unused emails.

Huggins was a member of band of Montreal from 1998 through 2010. The Brothers Chaps directed the music video for of Montreal's 2007 song "Heimdalsgate Like a Promethean Curse". In 2008, Limozeen was the opening act for an of Montreal concert.

Huggins plays drums in the band Air-Sea Dolphin, alongside The Brothers Chaps, Robert Schneider, and Ryan Sterritt; this band has also recorded music and performed live as sloshy. Huggins appeared at the Homestar Runner 20th Anniversary Shows in 2016, as a member of sloshy and retelling the story of Homestar Runner's name at the first show.
