Talk:Galoob

The "Galoob notice" link appears to be 404'd on the Hasbro site. What did it point to and perhaps it can be found again? --Come back, chocolates!
So ... was the Chaps Bros using this name a mistake? (i.e. they didn't know the real comapny existed) or was it on purpose? (vaugely satirical) --NERD42 email talk h²g² pedia uncyc 19:32, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
'twas a satire. in the title for 'Meet Marshie!, it says "New from Galoob!", which was used in their last line of commercials to date. 68.107.96.136 11:36, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Umm, isn't this speculation? This is all based on a page title, and hasn't been mentioned in any of the marshie commercials since, nor has it actually appeared anywhere relevant. I think it's more likely that TBC pulled out a popular catch phrase that sort of fit when they made that page. (I realize that this page has been here for a while as sometimes it's brought up in a debate such as this. Side note, a page's age doesn't make it any more or less page-worthy. Please don't bring it up. I also realize that it's referenced as such on all of the fluffy puff pages, and i don't think it should be there either. Please leave that out of this also.) My opinion: delete. DeFender1031 20:24, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. Galoob should be mentioned as a fun fact on the Meet Marshie page, but that's it. (Side note: Although a page's age shouldn't be the only factor in determining page-worthines, it is still potentially important. All things being equal, a page that's been here a while should be kept (and for that reason I recommend we remove the content but redirect the page itself, just in case it's been linked to from an external site). It just happens that in this case the page probably shouldn't have been created in the first place.) — It's dot com 23:37, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

- I'm done fixing the articles that link here. Redirecting to Meet Marshie unless you have a better idea. DeFender1031 00:02, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- Done and done. There's no need to remove all references to Galoob, though. I've put it back on Minor Companies, because it is one. Loafing

- Is not. DeFender1031 00:04, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- Is too. But seriously, how is this not a minor company? It's a company and it's minor. Loafing

- Naw, it's just a cute real world ref. The company is just called fluffy puff. DeFender1031 00:08, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I see now. Yes, that makes sense (although Galoob could still be the company owning the Fluffy Puff brand... but or course that's speculation). Loafing
