[edit] G5?

I object to the naming of this article as the "G5 iMac." There's no evidence for or against it being a G5 model.— Bassbone (TALK Strong Mad Has a Posse CONT) 07:48, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Propose move to The Cheat's iMac. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:40, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
Although Tangerine Dreams is an iMac too, and also belongs to The Cheat. Really it's his new iMac. --DorianGray
Well, Bassbone is quite correct, calling it a G5 is speculation. But calling it the new iMac is a bit stilted. There must be a better way to title this page without speculation or time-limited terminology. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:54, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok, propose move to The Cheat's iMac (2006), pending a more identifying name released in canon sometime in the future. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:56, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Moved using the handy-dandy "move" function shown at the top of the page. I think the sysops will undestand. I also stubbed this, as it could be more detailed and cleaned up. - Fahooglewitz1077 (talk · contribs) 01:20, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Its a Tandy, not a Mac: The Cheat's iTandy - Not signed in guy, 06:50, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Hmm? Can you provide a link to the Tandy model it resembles? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 07:05, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Name

What's up with the (2006) in the article title, and the "New" in "The Cheat's New iMac" in the opening? Doesn't seem right. —BazookaJoe 03:40, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Used to be called "New" in the title. Changed so it wouldn't get dated. The 2006 is coz Tangerine Dreams is also an iMac, and this is to differentiate it. --DorianGray

[edit] Monosodium Dreams

Should we treat it as the official name and move this article there? Bad Bad Guy 03:37, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

What? Why? Where does that name come from? Some DVD stuff? --DorianGray 03:42, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
The redesign commentary. Bad Bad Guy 03:56, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Should I just move it? Bad Bad Guy 16:53, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Huh? *Looks in Help* *Thinks it will be easy* *It is not as easy* *Gives up unwillingly* I say just rename it. Or would it mess thing up for links to this article? 17:11, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
We can change the links to point to Monosodium Dreams. DEI DAT VMdatvm center\super contra 17:17, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I know. I don't know why I said that. 17:41, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mac OS Version

The article says that Tiger came with all G5 iMacs, but I bought an iMac G5 from Apple, and when I sent off for replacement OS discs, it came back with 10.3.3 (Panther). Just saying. --Monosodium 03:46, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

That, I find weird. That actually reminds me. The iMac G5 was released when Panther was still around. Oh well, there's a bunch of stuff I could improve on in that article. Seeing as I'm the only one who contributes to i— oh wait. This is the later iMac G5 with the built-in iSight, which was released a couple months after Tiger. I think I should note that. Thanks for bringing it up! -- 03:55, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Apple button

In the section about the menu bars, it might be nice to put in the apple button, thus removing the need to tell people it's there, in the text that follows.  on a mac is option+shift+k. I'm not sure if it will show up that way on a PC, though. --ChrisF talk 22:52, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

That's the thing, though. The Apple logo is only accessible on Apple devices/with Apple-provided fonts. Other devices/fonts are not able to show the logo. That's why I went for a bullet character instead. Soiled Bargains (talk|ctrb) 23:39, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
I suppose we could upload images for the apple and spotlight. For now, I think words are better than bullets. — It's dot com 04:37, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
