Sorry folks, I don't see this on the website? I get 404'D when I try to follow either of the external links. MetaStar 22:01, 25 Sep 2004 (MST)

I fixed the links so they point to the correct page. --Kilroy 22:05, 25 Sep 2004 (MST)

[edit] a RUNNING gag?

I want to start a page about Running on hills or something similar. In mile and in Ballad of The Sneak there are similar scenes whee characters run on the hills just like the intro. Are there more like this? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 10:19, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything

Just so you know, this is the 42nd article created in the Wiki. w00t. Has Matt? (talk) 02:36, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

"I may be a pretty sad person, but I don't make jokes in base 13." — Lapper (talk) 03:06, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
Heh! Cause 6^13 * 8^13= 42^13. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 03:48, 17 March 2013 (UTC) Douglas Adams never failed to amaze.
No it isn't. It's 48^13. And this discussion is really old. --Jay o'Lantern (Haunt) 05:46, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
Actually, we're both wrong. It's six by nine. In the book the ultimate question is what's six by nine? And the answer is 42. Hence, "I always knew there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe"- the joke is that fans noticed 6^13 by 9^13 was 42^13 - and Douglas Adams said he didn't make jokes in base thirteen. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 13:03, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
'^' does not represent an alternate base; it represents exponentiation. Also, x^a * y^a = (x * y)^a for all x, y, and a, except when the values of the exponentiation are undefined. Thus, 6^13 * 9^13 still doesn't equal 42^13. It would be 54^13. The joke is that 6 (just six) and 9 (just nine) multiply to 54, which is wholly coincidentally represented as 42 in base 13, and is most definitely not ever represented as 42^13 (that would be 42 multiplied by itself 13 times). --Jay o'Lantern (Haunt) 06:56, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Movie Not Loaded...

Seems to be not present in Flash Player 9 when this movie runs. ColdReactive

Nevermind, I was looking at the wrong page. ColdReactive
Does anyone have a Flash decompiler on hand? What Flash file is this one calling on when you click "Close"? --70.143.29.193 19:35, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
The script actions for the close button are listed as follows:
// Button actions...
on (release)
{
this.unloadMovie();
}
I dunno what any o' that means. But that's what it says. --DorianGray 20:42, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Weird. I thought the "Movie Not Loaded..." menu item was due to a non-existent Flash file. Or it's just a plain Flash that, well, hasn't finished loading. I'm not that good with ActionScript either, but is "this" defined as a variable? Or is that all of the script? --70.143.29.193 20:54, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
"this" is a keyword that refers to the object that the code is attached to; it's the child of "parent". So, Old Intro 2 tries tounload itself from the Museum. Also, this has some (lots) information about unloadMovie(). (Now I know how to remove something from loadMovie()! Before, I would have to make an empty frame at the end of the loaded movie and just let it sit there.)fuchsiania 16:45, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Blue Hat?

Should it be counted as a goof or fun fact that the brim of Homestar's hat is blue when you see his back? CompyError 02:48, 20 December 2008 (UTC)CompyError

I don't think so; that's the top of his hat brim, a side we never see anywhere else.
Actually, I've noticed that it's red when we see his back. For example, there's A Jorb Well Done and SBCG4AP. CompyError 02:25, 10 January 2009 (UTC)CompyError

Yeah, I think that's also the top of the brim. Like, the top is blue and the bottom is red. C-Son-L Sweaters 20:07, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Stuck

I could not get past that old intro! 67.187.21.48 02:16, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

The "old intro" is kept in the museum as an archive. It doesn't go anywhere anymore. The Knights Who Say Ni 02:29, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
