[edit] Disambiguation proposal
So, we have some issues here with this Twitter page being a disambiguation: usually you would expect an article here instead of a disambig and so editors are reluctant to link to it. My proposal:
- Move the current Twitter to Twitter (disambiguation).
- Redirect Twitter to Social Media.
Purpose/benefits:
- A redirect is a more specific target to link to than a disambiguation. (In this case, Social Media covers the topic well enough.)
- The redirect allows for a future expanded article.
- We can link internally instead of linking to wikipedia.
So, what does everybody think? Since this is an article move I figured it would be better to discuss prior to executing. --Stux 20:11, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- I don't strongly support this. I tend to lean toward not including "(disambiguation)" in titles unless necessary. As for the benefits you listed:
- Disambiguations shouldn't be linked to in the first place, for the most part. And why does it have to be a redirect?
[[Social Media|Twitter]]
works just as well. - Seems kind of pre-emptive. We should cross that bridge when we come to it.
- What's wrong with linking to Wikipedia? Also, we don't have to link to Wikipedia if we just use
[[Social Media|Twitter]]
.
- Disambiguations shouldn't be linked to in the first place, for the most part. And why does it have to be a redirect?
