[edit] Butt kick

Dilbert_kicks.gif Here you go - A hundred kicks in the butt. Yeah, I call that a buck. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 18:18, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

That thing is still running well past 100, so I think you overpaid. I'll give you the change sometime. — Defender1031*Talk 22:05, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Store Thank You Messages

The other half of the reason for reverting the edit on the Store TY talk page was because at first, i thought your rv/self 3½ years ago meant it was okay to have the link there if it didn't actually link to the content. I have no way of knowing how long the YouTube video has been inaccessible. (btw, is there a way to tell that?) I didn't realize until later that you meant they don't play anymore on the website. OK, I agree that the content should be there. The Knights Who Say Ni 16:36, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Yeah. The only part that maybe I felt like the revert you made was correct is because it was a modification of someone else's talk post, but as it was to correct a useful dead link, i figured it was okay. It was actually a little amusing to me that I had actually looked at the edit, considered reverting, and didn't before you came along and reverted per something that I did a while back. I had actually checked the history to see why it hadn't been removed for just that reason. — Defender1031*Talk 18:18, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Some kind of word like 'sic'

Ooh. I did not know what that tag meant, thanks! It's also weird that his talking would be transcribed that way instead of just saying something like {Strong Bad capitalizes the H) Actually, on second thought that makes things more complicated. As for the elusive ellipses, there's no explicit rule for whether you capitalize after one except that it has to form an independent clause (I don't think clauses can be interjections like What? Though sentences can be) or if it's not independent, it would involve a de facto new sentence caused by the first sentence trailing off. I don't think in the articles case that was a trail off, more like a pause. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 22:53, 13 March 2013 (UTC) Oh, and didya see my page recommendation? No one has commented on it and it's making me think it was a bad idea...

The one in the sandbox? I saw it, didn't comment because I was busy, too busy to move the conversation. The main page talk might be a better place for that. I'd point out that "naked as a jay bird" is actually a common expression, so wouldn't fit. I suggest coming up with 3 or 4 examples unique to H*R if you want to establish enough content for a page. — Defender1031*Talk 00:33, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
That I shall, my good Fender! Iv'e never heard that expression before. Would they be recurring expressions, or just unique to HSR ones? --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 00:41, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
They don't have to recur, just be unique to H*R. As for that expression, https://www.google.com/search?q=naked+as+a+jay+bird — Defender1031*Talk 00:48, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
Wow. I cannot keep up with the youth lingo these days. Another page I was looking for was one for the running gag about acne, but I couldn't find any, which is strange because there are tons of examples. Did I miss it or something? --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 01:05, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
A quick search returns four mentions of acne. If I'm not mistaken, we generally say that for something like this, there need to be three mentions, so if you would like to create the page, feel free. The Knights Who Say Ni 01:41, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
Hooray! What kind of running gag would this be? Word? Definetely not food. It's a lot more than four if you add references to zits and pimples to the list. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 01:50, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Little Tidbit

Did you know defenestration means to throw something out the window? --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 01:56, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

I actually did. — Defender1031*Talk 02:02, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Aha... Did you know that we recently confirmed the existence of the Higgs Boson? Well, according to the Standard Model that is. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 02:14, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Yep, I keep reading about that. Chemistry and subatomic physics are not my strong suits, so while I'm aware of them discovering the Higgs Boson and that it has something to do with smashing Large Hadrons into each other at high speeds, I'm not sure what any of those things are, what it means that they exist, or whether the earth is about to be sucked into a black hole as a result, though my guess on that last one is no. — Defender1031*Talk 02:24, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
(Basically there are a few kinds of basic particles: quarks (up, down, top, bottom, strange, charm) which make protons and neutrons, charged and uncharged leptons (electrons and neutrinos respectively) and bosons (force carriers which account for electromagnetism and weak force) which amount to the standard model- but none explain why matter has mass, that's what the Higgs does. The news actually just came out today, it's been around for a while that we discovered a new Higgs-like particle but we found it has a spin of zero- the Higgs defining trait. We're yet to find out whether this is one of many Higgs.) Crap! Ugh... Do you know my mother's maiden name? --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 02:36, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Hmm... that's very interesting... *pretends to understand a word of that* yes yes. Very interesting... Umm... Jones? Is it Jones? — Defender1031*Talk 02:41, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Why yes, it is Jones! No, I didn't just edit this post. Yes, this ugh... computer's plugged in. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 02:47, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
~_~..... --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 03:03, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Awesome. I know everything there is to know in the world. Except apparently what a Higgs Boson is... and how chemicals work... and a bunch of other stuff. — Defender1031*Talk 03:11, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Don't be so hard on yo'self. Everybody knows chemicals are really tiny gnomes that maintain equilibrium through the conservation of mass and energy. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 03:25, 15 March 2013 (UTC) Or did you miss your course in bogus chemistry 101?

[edit] Saturday?

Oh, I deleted it because I thought it was a joke. Does he actually say "my life is a joke" when he dies? I haven't played that game in a while. AND I THOUGHT YOU WEREN'T EDITING ON SATURDAYS! Not that I'm complaining, I like the company. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 19:12, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

Yes he does. And technically, it's from sundown friday until sundown saturday, and it's already after dark where I am. — Defender1031*Talk 19:20, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
Ohh. I gotcha. I feel like I should know that (considering I went to Sunday School until I was thirteen). You must have a really hard time keeping off the wiki on those days in summer where the sun is up until like eleven o'clock. Or is it one of those sundown or 12 o'clock, whichever comes first kinda deals? --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 19:32, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
Nope, no trouble at all actually. I just relax and enjoy the fact that I'm not forced to answer phone calls or stare at a screen and can just relax. And nope, it's sundown or sundown, whichever comes first. (Technically it's actually from sundown friday until after dark on saturday, but whatever. See Wikipedia:Shabbat for more info.) — Defender1031*Talk 19:36, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit] A Question

Should subtitles be completely grammatically correct (for things like capitalization, spacing, spelling, not pronunciation), in sbemails? (They are already being typed out on his computer) --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 21:48, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

Hmm... I don't know offhand. We may have a policy for it but I'm not sure. My talk page may not be the best place to ask either. — Defender1031*Talk 21:51, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
Your probably right. I just asked you cause, you know, your the only one online and my only buddy on the "inside" (Wait, don't answer that.) Where to find a sysop at this hour...?--Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 22:02, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
I meant more that a better place to ask would be on the talk page for the subtitles project page. — Defender1031*Talk 22:07, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Phewf... --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 22:10, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit] GAH

GAH... That's so embarrassing! CRUEL LADY IRONY! --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 23:25, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

And I accidentally sent this twice because I pressed go before finishing the summary. Okay, I've had enough with this iPad. --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 23:35, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit] A series of incorrect, unencyclopedic, and uncited edits? (Marshmallow's Last Stand).

(Regarding this edit)

Look at the "FBI WARNING" on the cartoon, it clearly says:

FBI WARNING

This cartoon is pretty old. It was the first  cartoon
we ever made. Homestar is not very funny and
neither is Strong Bad. They are mere shadows of
the men they have become. This cartoon has not
been on the site for many months, but we have had
several requests(from our Dad) to put it back. So
here it is. Consider yourselves warned.

The website was launched on 1 January 2000, and the cartoon had to be created in 1999, before registering on 6 December 1999. 15:23, 23 Jun 2013, 76.117.236.109.

But the wiki only documents items after they are first published online (items are usually published on the H*R site first; TBC also has an official YouTube channel for releasing toons and they can also publish official H*R DVDs). Marshmallow's Last Stand wasn't originally published until after the H*R website creation in 2000. The only time we can make note of items before their official publishing is if TBC reveals some behind-the-scenes info of a material's creation before it was officially published in a toon/game/whatever. So if you found official sources from TBC saying they made the Marshmallow's Last Stand in 1999, then we could note such a thing in that toon's Trivia if it's not already there now.  ;) — Ngamer01 14:34, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Little Girl's YouTube Account

How come it has nothing to do with H+R? Is it a violation? Vandalism? Can it make me be blocked from editing? 12:44, 30 Jun 2013, 76.117.236.109.

No, it appears to have been a good faith edit, it just seems as though the youtube channel itself has nothing to do with H*R and having it listed on the wiki seems a little more invasive of TBC's family than we usually prefer to get. But it's been removed, so no harm done. — Defender1031*Talk 11:14, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Maybe toonsold.html's swf file was toons.swf.

Because when you click http://www.homestarrunner.com/toons.swf , it goes to 404'd! and the Lava Lamp has its own swf file.

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to prove with this fact. — Defender1031*Talk 17:06, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Alright, let me tell you a little somethin' somethin', Defendy.

You think you're all that. And trust me, you definitely are.

[edit] How often do the upside down links appear most of the time?

The website was last updated 22-12-10, so they don't appear very often. The WebArchive links it back to October 2006, and people on the HRWiki keep saying the last time they saw the upside-down links was in July 2010. So it pretty much doesn't appear often.
