[edit] Quiz!

It's quiz time! Awnser this: What is the page title of the SBEmail menu? Harder questions coming eventually. DrPepper42 00:13, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Denny's Menu - that's mw awnser. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:42, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Correct! Harder questions next time, and if you don't spell right anymore times, your awnser will be disqualified. Only on DrPepper42's The Show Quiz!
But uf you spell sidewise, will my awnser be requalified? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:58, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Wha? It's not disqualified this time, but from now on, ones with bad spelling will be disqualified. What's spelling sidewise? DrPepper42 01:00, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
It's something to know. Paybe you'd finger it out? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 01:03, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, spell right! Or, or, or I'll start editing your post to make you spell right! (Maybe.) DrPepper42 01:05, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Ooh, I always love a good fingering out! Homestar-Winner (talk) 01:08, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok, no off...-topic...ness(?) or I'll... I'll... do something. I dunno what though. DrPepper42 01:17, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

My new favorite word is awnser. I don't know what it means, but it's my favorite. (That's a hint.) OptimisticFool 04:52, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

New question: How many barrels of Melonade were visible in A Jumping Jack Contest when The Cheat refilled his glass to give to Homestar? DrPepper42 20:26, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

5 are behind Strong Mad, 2 more in the montage. —Supuhstar* Image:Supuhstar(SupuhSmall).gif 21:05, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
No, I'm sorry, but there are 6 barrels at first, then the two in the montage. I'll think up another question soon!
Oh... There's one... between SM's legs...
Uh... yeah. That's kinda hard to notice, isn't it? Too bad a lot of good questions are awnsered in the fun facts of a toon. DrPepper42 17:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spelling

It's "answ-"! It's "answ-"! It's answer! Not awnser! I can't take it any more! Answ- answ- answ-! Answer! Answer! (Reference to Easter egg in secret identity; no offense intended.) OptimisticFool 21:25, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Wha- What are you doing here!?! Oh. Wait. It's a talk page. But, you spelled it "awnser" instead of "answer". Just look up from here. DrPepper42 21:55, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
You'll also notice that that was a hint. =] OptimisticFool 22:21, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
What? That is making no sense! Are you asking for a CHALLENGE?!?!?!?!!? The man with no plan- DrPepper42 23:16, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

It really would do you some good to make an effort to spell "answered" correctly. Seriously. OptimisticFool 18:03, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your Signature

Hey there, DrPepper42. Your signature is way too long. It needs to fit into this box:

Keep on tranglin. Loafing 01:44, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Crap. Well, I'll think up a shorter one. The man with no plan- DrPepper42 01:45, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
It's usually best if you just use your name, especially if you're using a text-only signature. — It's dot com 01:46, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Fixed, fixed, and fixed again! Woot! DrPepper42 01:52, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Colonoscopy

Hey, peek at HRW:TALK to see why sequential indentation is good. it's ok to cleanse the colons when the eruption is great, but when it is not, they really help us follow the discussion. Thanks for contributing! Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:48, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Mmkay. I just don't like the text starting halfway across the screen. Makes it even harder to tell for me. DrPepper42 00:59, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Understood. balance that with the advantage of indentation = replying Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:10, 22 June 2008 (UTC)colons left out on purpose

Wait, I meant having text start halfway across the screen makes it hard to tell who said what. Yes, I always put in random links like that. DrPepper42 14:26, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
At the far end of your tether
And your thoughts won't fit together
So you sleep light or whatever
And the night goes on forever
Then your mind change like the weather
You're in need of Dr. Bob and Professor Pepper

Just what he needs to make him feel better --Beck 12:43, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

What was that?

[edit] Sig Move

Dude, your sig move turned all of your previous sigs into the text "No editing my siggy, foo." .. And nobody vandalizes sigs, really. I hope this didn't worry you. OptimisticFool 18:43, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

I've moved it back, for the reasons listed above. — It's dot com 19:55, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay, then, but I've seen sig vandalism on Mariowiki. I can be paranoid at times. DrPepper42 20:40, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
If someone vandalizes anything, it can be reverted, likewise, someone can just as easily vandalize "siggy" as they can "sig". — Defender1031*Talk 20:51, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
I can easily do a search of the User namespace starting with your username, and see a list of all your subpages. It's not really possible to hide the signature template, so it may as well stay put as moving it won't help. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:00, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
DrPepper42, allow me to be the one to point out the irony.. by trying to prevent the vandalism of your sig, you succeeded only in "vandalizing" your own sig. =] Anyway, the attention brought to your sig has earned it a place here. =] OptimisticFool 21:09, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hurts eyes

If you really want to make eyes hurt, try yellow. I think it still qualifies as "readable". OptimisticFool 17:17, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

No it does not. — Defender1031*Talk 17:20, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
By definition, it does. I can read it, anyway. =] OptimisticFool 17:21, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

How can I brighten this green color? I just can't fing the right shade of bright lime green! (Btw: I can read the yellow. THAT is is some eye-hurting text! Maybe it should be "Annoys you: DrPepper42" DrPepper42 13:56, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

If you want bright lime green, plug in #00FF00. If you want a maybe-readable-but-not-lime-green color, plug in #A2FFA2. I don't know, you might find that color rejected by the higher-ups. And honestly, a sig should express your personality, anyway, not make people hate you for hurting their eyes. Just a thought. OptimisticFool 15:27, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Your hard to read sig demeans us all! — Defender1031*Talk 18:27, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
So... what you're saying is that I should have a picture of Onion Bubs, my favorite character? Can someone get me that image? At a size for a sig? I'm currently printerless. DrPepper42 13:27, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
And my printer is out of ink. Not sure what a printer has anything to do with this, though. =] Anyway, here's your image: .. have fun! OptimisticFool 06:23, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! DrPepper42 11:09, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
That'll be $300. OptimisticFool 05:59, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit summary

DrPepper42, I do not appreciate the tone of your edit summary here: [1]. Being indignant like that toward good-faith edits is never called for, full stop. Furthermore, your "correction" was not completely justified. For one thing, Mandarin is a form of Chinese, meaning that the original was not incorrect, just less specific than what you wrote. Furthermore, your edit was problematic in that simply calling it "Mandarin" in the context you did implies that the characters after it are Mandarin, which they are not. The are Chinese characters, as all forms of Chinese use (roughly) the same set of characters. In sum, don't treat good faith editors that way under any circumstance, and be careful to fact-check before being critical of an edit. Heimstern Läufer 06:12, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Sorry. Sometimes I get cheesed off at something someone does and it hinders my judgement on other matters. That was one of those times. (BTW: Mandarin is the most common form of Chinese language, and is the official language of China. It is very likely that the characters are Mandarin, but I'm not an expert on Chinese language.) DrPepper42 10:12, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
OK, cool cool. Just don't use that tone again, and we'll be all awesome, all the time.
By the way, I have had a year of Chinese (Mandarin, to be specific) and have spent a fair bit of time in China, so I can clear things up a bit: Yes, Mandarin is the most common spoken form of Chinese and the official form of the People's Republic of China. The writing, however, is the same throughout China (OK, there is a bit of an exception in that Cantonese has its own written form, most often used in Hong Kong and Macau, but it's generally the same elsewhere in China.) This means that, while what Strong Bad said is definitely Mandarin, as it was spoken with the Mandarin pronunciation, the characters representing them are not Mandarin; they are pan-Chinese. (Or, to put it another way, they're no more Mandarin than they are any other form of Chinese.) That's why the current explanation, which describes SB's saying as Mandarin but the characters as Chinese, is probably the best. There, long and possibly unnecessary explanation finished. Keep on tranglin'! Heimstern Läufer 10:20, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Alright, good. The talk is Mandarin, but the writing is Chinese in general. Got it. DrPepper42 10:26, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
