[edit] Sig Help

If you're reading this go ahead and write something. But nothing inappropriate or it will be DELETED!!!!!!!! Pacoman 16:51, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

I know how. And everything I know about sigs, I learned from HRWiki:Signature and Help:Signature. You can also try viewing the source of the sigs of others. Hope that helps. OptimisticFool 17:00, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Using the Talk page

  • Hey Pacoman. Welcome to our fine Wiki! If you have any questions for anybody, though, you should always use the talk page. Never edit one's userpage like you did here. Alright, happy editing. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 18:16, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Using Show Preview

Hello Pacoman, I see that you have made several consecutive edits to the same page. I want to point out the Show Preview button. It's right next to the Save Page button when you edit. You should use it whenever you are making a lot of experimental edits, for example when you are trying to get formatting right. Using the Show Preview button is quicker and easier than saving and clicking "edit" again, and will keep recent changes and page histories from being flooded. Thanks, --DorianGray 20:29, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Pacoman. Seeing that "Have a seat on the Optimistic Fool's couch" on your user page made me laugh. =] I just wanted to add that I hope to see you start editing more than just user space as time goes on. So far your one edit to the knowledge base got reverted; I hope that didn't discourage you. OptimisticFool 21:18, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Optimistic Fool for the comment on my talk page. I try to make people laugh. I wrote that because I don't really know how to get pics of my own so I took yours:) Oh and I see that you are theyellowdarts cool users list, so could you please put in a good word for me with him to put me on his cool users page (whew, that was a mouthful), I asked him already too though
thanks Pacoman 22:32, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
If there's an image that you're specifically looking for, I'd be happy to help. I may not be able to get to it for several hours, but I'd upload an image for your userpage or sig or whatever if you wanted me to. And as for Yellow Man's cool users list, I have no influence over him.. but good luck in your quest. =] OptimisticFool 22:46, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Opti, I seriously laughed out loud when I read that. Pacoman, as for adding images, see this. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 04:41, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Hey, i promise you, that show preview button is totally awesome! — Defender1031*Talk 20:19, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My new sig

Hey look everybody! Optimistic Fool made me a new sig! Check it out. Pacoman Isn't it awesome?

Sure is! I may just have to steel it when you're asleep tonight! (DUN DUN DUUUN!) Homestar-Winner (talk) 19:34, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your cool user userbox

Hey there, Pacoman. Just letting you know that the userbox you've started to promote uses the logo of the subtitles project. This will probably lead to confusion if it is actually used on a userpage. Readers will think that the user is involved in the subtitles project, so maybe you should use a different image for your userbox. Thanks, Loafing 22:06, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

How's that? And hey could you do me a big favor and make it look more like a user box? Thanks so much. Pacoman 03:16, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
How's this?

Thanks so much Pacoman 01:35, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Socializing and wiki etiquette

Hi there, Paco. I've noticed that you've been doing a lot of work on your user page, and connecting with a lot of the users here, and that's great, a wiki needs to have a community feel to it in order to function. That said though, a wiki is not a social club, and posting repeatedly on multiple users' pages inviting them to add your userbox can be considered by some to be unnecessary spamming. In addition, I've noticed that, of your 164 edits, only 8 of them were outside of user or user talk namespaces. As I said, the wiki is not a social club and if you're just looking to connect with other Homestar fans, there are plenty of fan sites. You may also want to try the IRC channel, as plenty of the people who hang out there merely lurk on the wiki. Anyway, I hope this helps. If you have any questions, you can ask me on my talk page, or find me in the IRC channel, I'm usually online. Thanks. — Defender1031*Talk 02:22, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey Defender, I read your message on my talk page and I just wanted to say that I come on everyday and read articles and watch toons on homestarrunner.com and I always find tons of "Fun Facts" and stuff but people have already put it there. I try to help but can't and get bored so I edit my User page. And please don't call me a lurker. Pacoman 02:45, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
First of all, that's fine, no one's saying you can't do that, I was just trying to give you some friendly advice. I advise at least stopping with the repeated posting on talk pages, if you do that then the rest should be fine. I also did not mean any offense by the term "lurker". It is not derogatory in any way, it merely means that you don't edit much. There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing so, as I said, plenty of people don't edit much. — Defender1031*Talk 03:02, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Oh ok Pacoman 03:08, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey Pacoman! This is just my honest opinion, but, you should seriously visit the IRC channel. It is completely laid back there and you can talk to other Wiki users about anything, really. Any topic. Of anything. (Family-friendly of course). Don't be scared. The channel won't bite. ;-) Try it out. Just go here and click on "chat.hrwiki.org", type in your username, and chat up. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 05:19, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Can I go on the IRC channel without downloading anything and is it free? Pacoman 14:40, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes and yes. Just read the rules on the HRWiki:IRC channel page before entering. :) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 15:48, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Assuming you have the java plugin installed already. If not, tell me, and i'll direct you how to get there using an alternate client. — Defender1031*Talk 21:17, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
