Matt "Lucky" Yates is a friend of the Brothers Chaps. He has puppet making experience from his work at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia, and is responsible for making the Homestar Runner and Strong Bad puppets, along with Chris Brown. He has appeared in multiple Homestar Runner live action videos, first portraying one of the Red and Blue Knights in the Peasant's Quest Movie Trailer, and later appearing as himself in Six-Sadded, Die. - Don't Make Daddy P.O.'d and the Final Hours Playthrough live stream.
The Lucky Yates Talk Show was a live on-stage weekly talk show Yates hosted in Atlanta from 2000 to 2007. The Brothers Chaps appeared on the show on November 3, 2007. He is also a member of the improv comedy troupe Dad's Garage, which has collaborated with the Brothers Chaps on numerous occasions.
Yates made regular appearances on documentary series Good Eats. For the animated series Archer, he voiced Dr. Krieger and was the physical model for Ray Gillette.
