The word "style" is frequently used in contexts where it doesn't quite belong and has thus become something of a running gag within the Homestar Runner universe. Though this word is most closely associated with Nebulon, it is used by all manner of characters.

- Email caper — The Jumble puzzle in the Easter egg has a "hilarious cartoon style drawing" on it.
- New Boots — Nobody likes Nebulon's style.
- Email haircut — Strong Bad mentions "headbrow style".
- Decemberween in July — One of the links reads "Puppet Style".
- Scrolling Shooter Games Menu — Peasant's Quest is described as utilizing "[t]ext and graphic style!"'
- Email different town — Coach Z's "cool jacket" reads "Totally Style".
- Shopping for Danger — The grocery store that Blue Laser frequents is called "Price Style".
- Email the bet — Strong Bad and The King of Town consume "ice style cream".
- Email pizzaz — Strong Bad visits Strong Bad on his "Buffalo Style Ranch" and provides "buffalo style journalism".
- Email old comics — Strong Bad sings, "Let's get it over with! With the e-mail style, get it over with!"
