There have been numerous references to The Olympics in the Homestar Runner universe. It actually has some historical significance, as the Original Book was created during the 1996 Olympics (out of boredom according to The Brothers Chaps).
Appearances
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2- Strong Bad tells Marzipan that she should get a cable TV subscription that includes the Olympic Triplecast, which was an extention of NBC's Olympic coverage.
- The Brothers Chaps created the Original Book during the 1996 Olympics.
- 3 Times Halloween Funjob- The Cheat dresses up as Izzy, the mascot of the 1996 Olympics.
- Under Fan Stuff, there is a picture of Homestar as speed skater Apollo Ohno. The comment reads "I didn't watch much winter olympics but Stephanie sure did!"
- Teen Girl Squad Issue 10- Cheerleader claims they can't go to The Ugly One's party because "they have the Olympics tonight". When it turns out to be a "b'g'rl p'rty", they call up to tell their coach that the Olympics are dumb.
- Flashforward- the maximum value is eventually labeled "The Olympics!"
- strong badathlon- based on Olympic events like the decathlon
