Anime is the term for East Asian cartoons, primarily those made in Japan. Anime has made several appearances in the Homestar Runner universe.
Appearances
- Email japanese cartoon — Strong Bad's "Stinkoman" character is designed to resemble old-fashioned anime. This trend continues throughout all other 20X6 toons.
- TrogdorCon '97 — Strong Sad mentions he is going to buy some "anime", which Strong Bad refers to by the outdated name, "japanimation" and Homestar Runner plans to buy manga (which he mispronounces), a type of comic book that inspires many pieces of anime.
- Most in the Graveyard — King of Town dresses as Hello Kitty.
- 4 Gregs — Japanese Culture Greg's face turns anime/manga style every time he says a Japanese word.
- Later That Night... — Strong Bad dresses as No-Face from the Studio Ghibli film, Spirited Away.
