If somebody ever tries to delete this article, please don't. I like it, and it *is* a running gag that deserves a space by itself, not just on Homestar's character page. Just saying this in advance. -Brightstar Shiner 01:10, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

To tell you the truth, the system (or lack of one) that exists for whether a topic deserves a subheading of a character's page, or a seperate one, rather baffles me. As far as I can tell, many articles such as this could be made character page subheadings, or vice versa (some character subheadings could be made a seperate page). Is this as big a deal to anybody else, or should we just leave as-is? Thunderbird 02:21, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
We should develop a policy for this. I remember my "Marzipan's Protest Signs" page which eventually was folded into her character page. This, to me, seems along the same lines. But as Thunderbird points out, it's rather arbitrary what is in the character page and what gets its own page. This merits discussion. Yes, the wiki is all over the place when it comes to the question of merging. I'm not sure if a policy would help much, but the idea does have potential. Loafing 02:34, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
I tend to hang around relatively new and debatable articles (like this one) to contribute on whether they should be deleted or not. As some people know, I don't vote to keep one very often, I usually vote for merging or flat out deletion. The problem here is that we don't have a policy regarding this, and we really should make one. That way, as soon as those kinds of pages pop up, we can deal with them swiftly and without several kilobytes of disscussion going either way whilst the creator of said article chimes in with notions to save his or her article because it was their very first one. My concern when it comes to making a policy about "deleting" or "merging" pages is that the ideas presented as part of a new page often lead to more thought by the community regarding the subject at hand (see Eating Non-Food Items history for an example). I think articles should be created and given a chance to see if they are worthy of standing alone before we even get to discussing the idea of deletion or merging. - Ilko Skevüld's Teh C 03:23, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, but STUFF is sort of like that, too. If a fun fact can not be chosen by a simple disscussion, it is suggested to be STUFF'd. Maybe a time could be set, say two or three weeks after the article is created, before the policy is pulled out. -Brightstar Shiner 19:59, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
