Atari 2600
From Homestar Runner Wiki
The Atari 2600 became an iconic home video game system of the late 1970s and early 1980s. In the Homestar Runner body of work, Atari characters, games, graphic style and controllers frequently show up. The Atari 2600's single button, single joystick controller and simple, blocky graphics conveys the feeling of a simpler, easier time. While the system was innovative at the time — using a cartridge system and being able to display graphics in color — by comparison, the system now seems primitive. This fact is used to emphasize how out of date their technology is. The Atari 2600 featured games such as Asteroids, Adventure, Pitfall! and Missile Command.
