Transcript

{Two vertical brown lines come up from the bottom of the screen, while a blue one comes down from the top. Homestar Runner appears in the center of the screen. A firework bursts on the left, along with the text "everyone loves the homestar runner". Homestar turns to the right as another firework appears, creating the text "he is a terrific athlete". As more fireworks explode, off-white arrows push the text offscreen. The vertical lines and the arrows spin away, as the camera zooms into Homestar's right eye. Homestar's eye sparkles, and then a star appears as another firework goes off. Homestar appears inside the star, which changes from white to blue, and spins around as several fireworks explode against the black background. Homestar's eye sparkles again. After one last firework surrounds the star and disappears, an h*r logo appears underneath the star, with either the word "enter" (in the old version) or "close" (in the current version) written under it.}

After, roll over the h*r logo to give it a yellow outline and yellow star and the h and r switch colors, if you click it, you will hear Homestar say, "Hello!" and it will say "you're in!" instead of "enter"

Fun Facts

  • The intro music is the "Disco" rhythm on the Casio SK-1 keyboard, played on different pitches.
  • This intro quotes the Original Book.
  • The Enter button only works between frames 122 and 127, when it sparkles.
  • According to the page title, Mike Chapman did the firework sound effects.
  • In the Old Flash Stuff page, there is a Close button instead of an Enter button.

Real World References

  • The way Homestar's eye sparkles is a reference to Barney and Friends, when Barney's eye sparkles at the end of every episode.
