[edit] Needed?

I do not feel this article is needed. It has only been mentioned three times and we know very little about it. In fact, it may not even exist anymore, seeing as it hasn't actually appeared on the site (yet). We don't even have a good picture of Bubs in the hoodie. I'm leaning towards a deletion due to lack of content at this time. A mention in the Fast Forward/Inside References sections on the relevant sections will suffice until it reappears in a later email, which may or may not happen. – The Chort 12:19, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

I think this article should be kept. If it had only appeared in the 2001 features, then I would say that it was more or less a throwaway joke and not really notable for its own page. But given that TBC brought it back in 2008 (and even made a swee-atshirt for Bubs), I consider it a real place in the H*R universe and well worthy of its own page. Trey56 16:28, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Trey56; it's definitely a real place. Keep. -PeterImage:Petersig.png
Even if it is a real place in the H*R universe, what content can be added to this article? All we know is that Bubs attends night classes there and that he has a hoodie. Is that enough for Disco Tech to merit its own article? Personally, I'm not sure. I feel that this information is summed up perfectly on the Yearbook Character Page. – The Chort 12:29, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Significance is more the issue than length; it's pretty common for topics to be significant enough to the H*R body of work to have their own page, and yet there's not that much to say about them (examples of places: The Junkyard, Carrot and Kazoo Hill; other examples: Kidelectrix, The Guys). From HRWiki:Inclusion guidelines: "Page content relating to a H*R-specific item or location: Needs only one appearance in Homestar Runner toons, as long as it played an important role in the plot." I think Disco Tech was important enough to the various cartoons it was in (i.e. not just seen in the background and never mentioned) to merit an article. If this is the case, then I will no longer oppose the inclusion of this article. However, I would prefer that a better image of Bubs in his hoodie is uploaded (one without Coach Z's arm in the way, or with the arms slightly cropped off). – The Chort 14:00, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I've improved the image a bit (no more green men's arms in the picture). Trey56 19:28, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Holy Coincidence, Batman!

So I was watching Batman last week (starring the legendary Adam West, Burt Ward and Cesar Romero), and it was the second episode of the story arc when The Joker goes to the local high school and rigs the vending machines ("He Meets His Match, The Grisly Ghoul"). During this episode, The Joker places a bet on the school's basketball team's rivals, who happen to be called... Disco Tech. Coincidence? Or perhaps a quiet homage by TBC to one of their favourite TV programmes? Bear in mind that the No Loafing Sign is a reference to a similar sign seen during the previous episode, "The Joker Goes to School". – The Chort 14:39, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I just saw that. Probably not a coincidence, but according to Google, the name "Disco Tech" is not uncommon. גשמלדרברגן (Geshmalder) 02:37, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
