Signing help

Even if you don't have a signature yet, you can still sign your posts. Putting four tildes (~~~~) does this: Has Matt? (talk) 16:53, 31 December 2005 (UTC). Putting three tildes does this: Has Matt? (talk). Putting five tildes puts just the timestamp, like this: 16:53, 31 December 2005 (UTC). Hope this helps! Has Matt? (talk) 16:53, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

No worries; just wanted to be sure. I figured it wasn't a vandal, since they usually write things like, "I'm an idiot" or worse instead of writing anything that looks like what a real user would put on their user page. Keep on tranglin'! Heimstern Läufer 22:03, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

I would like to help out the site. Can you tell me how a revert works? Marth 99

Sure I can! When a page has been trolled or had a bad edit made, the simplest way to change it back is to revert it. Each page has a history of every edit made to it, see. Up at the top, you'll notice a little tab marked "history" (it's the fourth from the left, usually). Click on that and it'll bring up a page of all the edits made to that page, most recent ones on the top. Find the version you want to change it back to and click the date for that version. This will bring that version up in the window for editing. Just type "reverted" or "rv" (or "rv/v" for vandalism) ito the edit summary box beneath it and hit "save page". And that will correct the whole page! I hope that helps. If not, check out the Help pages for more information. --DorianGray
And for specific help with vandalism, look at this page. — talk Bubsty edits 03:24, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Heh, your user page struck me as particulary funny. (In a good way). — talk Bubsty edits 01:47, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
What do you consider to be funny in this page? The only thing I can think of is that "email" to SB. Please respond. -Marth 99 20:08, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Hm... let me re-phrase that. Interesting. And entertaining. — talk Bubsty edits 00:58, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

How many different pages do I make reference to in my page (not talk page)? Submit answer here. (Links do not count.) -Marth 99 21:33, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Note: I am logging out for the day. Would all contestants please post their answers here. First one to get the right answer wins. Okay bye. -Marth 99 21:46, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

I've found five (maybe six) so far... Not counting quotes. --DorianGray
I count six. For real. Has Matt? (talk) 22:50, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

I counted 9 references, though I'm unsure on one or two of them. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 00:59, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

(PS: Thanks for adding me to your list of cool people. :) I don't know what I did to get there, but... thanks! — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 00:59, 12 January 2006 (UTC))

Sigh. Still no one has won yet. Oh well. This is Marth 99, signing off. (hint, look at the first three lines)

Aha, I missed that part - typically assume the TOC is the first thing on the page. That makes 12 references, then. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 04:05, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Congraturations to KeiferSkunk for finding 12 references, although I only had eleven. They are:

Greetings. One and everyone (Homestar's character page)
its almost done (Homestar's Website
last section to come (Stinkoman K)
First Time Here (self-explanatory)
Things I'll Probably Do (autobiography)
all my dreams come TRUUUUE (part-time job)
maybe because I like cool people (Cool Things)
here it go (Pumpkin Carve-nival)
Pure Genius (bedtime story)
before they asplode (Strong Bad Zone)
everybody wants it, everybody needs it (theme park)

I suppose that "banned for all eternity" could be a reference (3 Times Halloween Funjob), so once again, congraturations. Stay tuned for when I issue another CHALLENGE!!!!! -Marth 99 19:28, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Wow, I actually counted a whole bunch of DIFFERENT references than the ones above. Some of yours I got, but I apparently inferred references in some other parts of your User Page. I'll list those when I have time. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:32, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

What do you have against me???????? Before I saw your cool people I was gonna put YOU on MY cool people list.TheThin 21:48, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Look. I really don't think you have what it thinks to join my cool people page. There are 2 problems:
  1. . You bug people to make guest books.
  2. . You troll pages for seemingly no reason.
But I guess I shouldn't be to hard on you. You will be removed from the BANNED list, but you will still not be placed on the list. Only when you prove yourself worthy you may join the list. -Marth 99 00:47, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Hey there, Marth...

Hey, I just saw that I'm on your cool people list! That's great! But I wanted to let you know about a couple problems in your description of me. First, contrary to popular belief, I'm American, not German. I just speak German. I've lived in the USA (California and Oregon) my whole life. Secondly, I was wondering if you might reword the part about me being a "protector of trolling", because it makes it sound like I protect trolls, not that I protect the Wiki from them. But thanks again for including me on the list in the first place. Talk atcha later! Heimstern Läufer 02:04, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the information; my page has been updated now. -Marth 99 02:09, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

I give up! Good rap though. Bluebry muffin 15:38, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Apparently you've never seen the show before. Its the second item on my non-Homestar related list. -Marth 99 15:42, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Thought so.

Yeah, I knew you were talking about Marth from Fire Emblem. The thing is, I also first heard about him through SSBM.

great new sig

i like purple better than blue....Seriously (Talk) 23:57, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

orange is pretty cool too. Marth 99 23:59, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
yeah, the next time you remake the sig you should make it orange and green. that would be awesome. Seriously (Talk) 00:08, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Everyone's came to a decision... no more guestbooks. --The 386 My talk 00:08, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, that's just the way it goes. Seriously (Talk) 01:42, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Yea now mine is gone. TheThin 01:43, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

So, why do certain people want you to not be on this website? I have to wonder....Seriously (Talk)

Also, sorry for putting a vote for you on that STUFF page. I thought something was wrong with you sig, because what you typed originally didn't actually show up. Seriously (Talk) 17:33, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Here's my story: A long time ago, a child (me) discovered Homestar Runner. As he got older, CERTAIN PEOPLE told him that he shouldn't go on anymore, because he had outgrew it. When he discovered the wiki, he had to make sure that this stayed secret as well. Don't tell CERTAIN PEOPLE that I told you this. -Marth 99 17:39, 4 February 2006 (UTC) P.S. Apology accepted. I had voted on another topic which appeared normally.
Ahhhhhhhhh....... So, I was just being a retard? That's perfectly normal, so whatever. Seriously (Talk) 19:43, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Wait, you mean these CERTAIN PEOPLE think Homestar Runner is intended for kids? Like, for the littlest, tiniest babies? And that it's one of those crappy kids cartoons on public television? That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! Is it because they think, "This is a cartoon therefore it's for kids"? Well in that case, The Simpsons is a cartoon, is that just for kids? EVERYONE can enjoy Homestar Runner, no matter what age they are. Have they even visited the site? – The Chort 21:32, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
wOOT. Seriously (Talk) 20:09, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

I can answer your date question. I checked the user creation log just to see if I was still there once. Sure enough, I was there, under the date of 12/30/2005. I scrolled up a bit, and lo and behold, you had become a user exactly one day after me. So, I hope that answers your question. Keep up the great work! LePorello / T / C 23:49, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

yes, i also like the study of the fundamental properties. emphasis on fun. csours 05:51, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

While you were out...

Just thought that you might like to know. On 2/9, around 5:00 PM Eastern time, a vandal showed up (eventually blocked by Firebird). Several of us reverted the vandalism and all is well now. Just thought that you might like to know. LePorello / T / C 01:32, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

To answer what you posted on my talk, it was Dr. Who. He attacked originally just the H*R themed pages, but went after the reverting users. I got hit twice (3 more times today), KieferSkunk twice, DorianGray at least once (I think), and ACupofCoffee at least once. He would change pages to say:

"Greetings from Dr. Who!! Wish you was here!!! If you ban me, I'll just go vandalize someone else's wiki! Have you got one? You could be next!!!"

Yeah, that type of troll. Talk atcha later, LePorello / T / C 21:39, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
