This is absolutely great, IDC. Really inspiring. Now if you will politely wait until I get paid for my FIRST JOB EVER I will donate. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 05:18, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] DO I HAS? I dunno, but I'm gonna check.

Ok, I'm about to ask my mom if she'll donate, but I'm worried that she'll say no. Here is what I'll say: "Hey Mom, You know that Homestar Runner website I'm always on? Well I was wondering, will you donate to it? You can use your PayPal account for it and it is only 11 bucks or less." so what do you think? -DavidMichael

I think a good idea would be to hand her eleven dollars as you say this. — It's dot com 20:10, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Ok, Joey, You will have have $11 soon from David Michael, Ohio, U.S. DavidMichael 13:42, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

Sorry it took me so long, Guys. I know we already raised enough money, but I just put it in the mailbox now. It took me a long time. Joey, there is an attached note in the envelope. CRUCIAL! Kinda. -DavidMichael

Any time is a good time to donate to the wiki, Fundraising Drive or not. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 23:46, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Don't want to come across as pushy either, but...

Okay guys, I donated. I did so last time and was slightly disapointed after I realized that the "thank you" page appearantly isn't updated anymore. It kind of made me feel like my money was less appreciated than that of other wiki users who were present as long as the page was updated. Maybe I wouldn't have expected anything if the donations page didn't mention the list. But it did, and still does, and all I'm saying is if you want to motivate people to donate, please either update that list or at least have the donations page inform us that it isn't going to be updated anymore. (No intention to sound aggressive or anything, sorry if it appears that way. It's just my lack of better words.) --Cass from Germany 20:14, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Which "thank you" page are you talking about? If you mean the Ledger, that just takes a few minutes to update after a donation. --Jay (Gobble) 20:18, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
I meant the HRWiki:Thank You! page which is linked to from the "donations" page and which, according to its "history", was last updated in 2007. --Cass from Germany 20:22, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Oh. --Jay (Gobble) 20:24, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Dear Cass, I know this is belated, but thank you for your donation, sincerely. Joey was the one who maintained that page, but he's pretty much here about twice a year these days. I meant to pick up the slack, but I didn't, and I apologize. We'll try to do better in the future. Thanks again! — It's dot com 20:43, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Ads

I think ads are wonderful. --70.190.123.204 05:52, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

I think you're wonderful. I'd be happy to write an extension that serves ads only for you. — It's dot com 06:11, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
It's Dot Com, I gotta level with you; that might've been... {quickly} the best truth I've ever heard. {normal} In fact, if anyone starts putting spam ads on the site in anyway you should not only delete them, but force ads to show only for those people. ColdReactive 15:11, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
If that is possible, that might be a very good idea to use against trolls. Lousy limited technology...--Jellote wuz here 19:00, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
If the extension goes through, also give the ads to me. I wrote that ads were wonderful when I wasn't logged in. --FangoriouslyFotoshopStar.png 21:15, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
Um, yeah. I'm not really doing that. — It's dot com 23:19, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Donation FAQ question

So I buy stuff from the Yahoo store, which is how HomestarRunner.com stays on the air. How does buying merch from the main website affect the wiki? I think this should be explained here, too. Like, "If I support the main site by buying t-shirts and stuff, should I still donate to hrwiki?" DurtyWilly 06:30, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Hey DurtyWilly, H*R.com and the wiki are in no way related to each other monetarily and are completely independent (though TBC have helped us in the past by personally donating themselves or letting the public know about us). So if someone did support the main site, the wiki would still need their donation. As for adding that information to this page that may not be such a bad idea for clarity. It would be up to the top brass to make it happen. --Stux 07:28, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Who is the top brass and how do I bring it to their attention? I'm sure that what you said, Stux, is somewhere else on this site too, but it should probably be in "DO YOU HAS?" I'm used to just making changed myself in wikis, but this is a rather special page. DurtyWilly 17:29, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
That's not a bad idea. We'll think about how to incorporate it into the page. — It's dot com 17:52, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks It's dot com! It's not mentioned on the "Donations" page either, or on the Guided Tour. I think some folks may come here under the impression that merch sales benefit this wiki as well as the Brothers Chaps, or even think that donations to HRWiki benefits the Chapmans as well as the wiki. It might help some people better realize that this site is a labor of love by the fans, and though Matt, Mike and co. love us and want us to be happy, only the fans' editing and donations can make this wiki happen.
